Boy, it's two weeks before Thanksgiving. My how time flies. Last week I mentioned I was going to show you how to roast chestnuts. Here's what you do. Take your chestnuts, put them flat side down in a pan, take a knife and cut the top side. You have a little scored them so they can breathe. Put them in a preheated oven, 400 degrees for about 15 to 20 minutes. They come out, the skin will peel right off. Voila, roasted chestnuts. That's what's going on with chestnuts. They're going to run about three to four dollars a pound in general. Other nuts are going to be good this year, although Phil Brutes are going to be a little higher because they were short. Look to pay about a dollar a pound for nuts in the shell. Fruit, what's going on? Locally, apples of all kinds, red delicious, golden delicious new towns, which are exceptional for baking, as well as the Granny Smith. Also good for eating. Also locally, pears, commis and d'Anjo. The comice pear, an excellent French pear for baking. Out of California, grapes, seedless grapes are over, so we're into red grapes, emperor grapes, and calmyro grapes. They are seeded but they are sweet. Also out of California, melons. Now it's a little late for the melon season, but they're still coming on. 49 to 69 cents a pound, cantaloupes, honeydews, and crenshaws. Other specialty items, pomegranates and persimmons coming on. Very good. This is the peak month for them, and they're excellent. Texas grapefruit, Florida grapefruit coming on again, good prices, good quality. Best buy of the week. And for the next probably two weeks in the fruit department will be bananas. They were about 59 cents a pound two weeks ago. This week they're down to three pounds for a dollar or even less. So bananas, best buy this week. May all your chestnuts come out roasted very good for eyewitness news. I'm Terry Potassium.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70652/file/156598#t=287.58,377.669
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70652/file/156598/transcript/87495/annotation/8
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70652/file/156598#t=402.84,402.84
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70652/file/156598/transcript/87495/annotation/9
Speaker 7: No. You're if you want to learn how to meditate, I'll tell you now, cause it's never too late. In her notice to the Sheriff's Office, Downs says she was assaulted and battered by a sheriff's deputy at McKenzie Willamette when he allegedly shoved her against a wall.
