What are the house limits? $2 bet on Mike Jack, and Texas hold him as $2. What's the procedure? Does the house take a cut or what's the way it operates? No, it's just people off the street come in and they all sit down and have a game. We sell the deck of cards and the drinks is all we have to do with it. Is it pretty popular? Yes it is. Hey, when is this going to be on Vogue? Hey, this is gonna be on TV! This is on TV, man. Yeah, we're playing for real, man! Hey, can we get on down here, sir? We're not here to take a look. Twenty-one. Twenty-two. That's right. Eleven. Eleven. Eleven. Eleven. Eleven. Eleven. Go ahead, take it. Here you go. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Now we're going to hold on to the theater. Tightness and his fairness of the individual. In its instance, in the exoneration of what we thought when we went into the case, it says that in fact we really did have something to challenge and that we weren't just being I haven't heard an opinion yet, so I'm not sure what all of it is. If it comes to the point where a final decision of the court at whatever level, whether it's this circuit court or an appellate court, says the law is different, then I'll be the first one to comply, and I'm sure the board will too. But at this point if you had to do it over again, you'd basically do the same thing. Yes I would and I felt that it was an educationally sound decision and a way to improve the school district and I still feel that way. For now, Judge Iroguin's decision makes the future uncertain for both the present and former high school principals. Today's action is precedent setting, but it will still take some time to exhaust all court options open to the district before the final word is known. Ken Strobeck, Eyewitness News in Eugene. And it's our position that by involving themselves with the coin, Merrill Lynch and other US businesses are supporting the system of apartheid, the system racial separation and white supremacy in South Africa. We're very opposed to that. One thing that we want to do, of course, is to inform the American public. I think a lot of people are not aware that there are 400 or more US companies economically involved in South African. The other thing that want to is to be part of a nationwide effort to to get some of these policies changed. The commissioner's position or job, Lane County Commissioner's, is a full-time job. I hope that Bob Wood will put in his time as commissioner and give it the full time that the position deserves and should have and should because he's representing the people. And other than that, I'm not impressed. Big one. We're actually at the start of our running course. We're going to go to the end of the track. Christmas trees and decorations aren't the only things that will hit your pocketbook at Christmas time, but everybody wants Christmas dinner, and somebody has to pay for it. It's really nice to work with the railways before meeting with this thing going. Supposedly, this counter was built in the 1930s, and modern equipment on it is now available in a private building. When I was a kid I was fascinated with just watching the trains going around and as years went along I kind of got interested in art more and then after I got out of the Army I more or less put all my knowledge together and put it all in one railroad and consequently that's where I ended up. I'm playing some young people, but so far to get the job done, I think it'd be probably the best test we could ever have would be tonight here in the pit, and if we can come out respectable, I'll think we'll have a good ball club this year. I went over Washington State, I thought it was good, but we didn't play on Pullman, so maybe not the test we should have had. How important is this Northwest swing, two games against Pac-18? Well, you know, I said if we could win one, I'd be happy. But I woke up this morning being greedy. Well, he said, I've been telling y'all for a long time. Now, I'm just a little smarter this way than any of you. I was very upset. I can't hardly get through going by myself at the same time. I can if I am. We actually had the actual wheel sound coming from the Freedom Train that was done in, uh, in, um... And this is the one that we got in 16 and never got more in this one too. You What about these things? Yeah, we've been thinking about this game for not just the beginning of this year, but for a long time, since we've been in junior high, we're thinking about it and now we're here, so we want to win it really bad. What does this mean to you personally? This gives me a chance to prove myself to a lot of people, and it gives me an opportunity, you know, as a leader to show everybody that Churchill deserves to be here, and we really do. This is wet David Jackson for Eyewitness News, and I'm in an area known as the Lake Creek District about 10 miles north of Harrisburg. The people up here have a very special reason to be thankful today. They're having their power come back on after almost three full days without light or any electricity. Very much so, you bet, because I know it's a nasty job for them and I've already talked to them here this morning and I realize that they're doing all they can. And I've been around the country too and kind of looking to see what's going on and lines are down obviously and they've got a lot of problems. Okay, cut it again. Thank you. I think the hardest thing was the desire to not eating as I was trying to cook, like tasting the foods and sticking my fingers in here and there. Thursday is the usual meeting day for Mary's group of Overeaters Anonymous, and this Thursday will be no exception. The local church where they usually meet is closed, so they've decided to hold their meeting here in this restaurant. But they're not going to be here to eat. This evening they will get together to discuss the successes and failures of a day spent trying to resist temptation. Miranda Dunn, Eyewitness News in Eugene. For Jean Rhodes of Pleasant Hill, this Thanksgiving has a touch of tragedy to it. This house, which she was getting ready to rent, burst into flames yesterday afternoon. This morning, it's a total loss. And that's where we're at. That's where I'm from. That's right up there. Thank you. Voila! We smelled smoke in the mobile home, and thought it was one of the pies running over in the oven. And a little bit later than that, we heard an explosion or a small rattle, I guess it was the first time. And we thought possibly the wind might be coming up. And these were comments we were making of the things going on. It seemed about five or ten minutes after that there was quite a large explosion and I ran to the back door to see what was going on in this place. So much smoke you couldn't see anything. Well, we worked until 6 a.m. This morning and we took about a three hour break and we're coming back again. Not an easy life working for the power company. That's just in a day's work. Are you getting fired? There you can get fired a lot over there. It kind of scares me that I may or may not make it through the day and I'm going to pray that I make it to the day without overeating. My number down, I've said 30. Do you want to try and make some noise? Today, it clicked and graded and all that, but it didn't hurt. It didn't even hurt in the shot either, and that was very encouraging. And the disk, it's just kind of a dull ache. It didn't really bite like it usually does. I'm really encouraged, and I have high hopes, really high hopes in that. Had time to make a move as you look forward to the Pac-8 and national meets, you feel good about your progress. I feel good about this progress. But you never know what's going to happen. I could choke in a big meat, or I could win it, or I can just do nothing. Who knows? I have a little higher confidence than I did before, so I may get a little bit bit. Just how secure are our schools? Well, I'm standing at the side door of one. Nobody is around. I'm out of sight of the office. And I, or anyone else, could easily open this door and walk right in. It's not easy to secure a building like this. And that's a problem that school administrators all over the state are facing today. The series of recent murders and kidnaps involving young school children has shattered the feeling of peace in the hallways and classrooms of our schools. We have multiple exits and entrances to the school. We have two different buildings. Students go between the two buildings. Students come and go from classrooms in certain areas of the building. Those are some of the problems. Be aware of what's going on. So you're being more careful? Yeah. If I see somebody in the hall looking strange or looking to find somebody, I'd probably report it. Was a volunteer labor force which was in the process of accomplishment and that the ban would be lifted. It would be done, in this particular case, we're located in the entanglement of a CNOTAS partner, which will be going for the sky, securing the promise of tomorrow for our force and our people. Basically I just got the sense that they were they were belittling the effort And I don't think it should be belittered because the people were not trade trained. They weren't paid They didn't have proper tools, and they still accomplished the 38 because they got it done
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69674/file/156087#t=24.2,2678.96
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69674/file/156087/transcript/86199
["English [Transcript]
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69674/file/156087/transcript/86199/annotation/2
https://d9jk7wjtjpu5g.cloudfront.net/file_transcripts/associated_files/000/086/199/original/trint_Coll427_fvm24_transcript.vtt?1762203967
text/vtt
en
https://d9jk7wjtjpu5g.cloudfront.net/file_transcripts/associated_files/000/086/199/original/trint_Coll427_fvm24_transcript.vtt?1762203967
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69674/file/156087/index/51619
["Coll427_FVm24 [Index]
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69674/file/156087/index/51619/annotation/3
["Title
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69674/file/156087#t=0.0,2830.875
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69674/file/156087/index/51619/annotation/4
coll427_fvm24_01 Gambling
coll427_fvm24_02 Gambling
coll427_fvm24_03 School Suit Principal
coll427_fvm24_04 South Africa
coll427_fvm24_05 Weinstein / Rust
coll427_fvm24_06 Xmas
coll427_fvm24_07 Trains
coll427_fvm24_08 Weather
coll427_fvm24_09 B-Ball
coll427_fvm24_10 Christmas
coll427_fvm24_11 B-Ball
coll427_fvm24_12 Wrestling
coll427_fvm24_13 South Africa
coll427_fvm24_14 Trains
coll427_fvm24_15 UO Footage
coll427_fvm24_16 Weather
coll427_fvm24_17 Train Derailment
coll427_fvm24_18 Churchill Football
coll427_fvm24_19 Churchill Football
coll427_fvm24_20 Weather
coll427_fvm24_21 Thanksgiving Power Outage
coll427_fvm24_22 Thanksgiving Power Outage
coll427_fvm24_23 Over-eaters Tease
coll427_fvm24_24 Over-eaters Anonymous
coll427_fvm24_25 Over-eaters Anonymous
coll427_fvm24_26 Fatal Accident
coll427_fvm24_27 Homeless Family Fire Aftermath
coll427_fvm24_28 Homeless Family
coll427_fvm24_29 Train Derailment
coll427_fvm24_30 Consumer-Mail Early
coll427_fvm24_31 Consumer
coll427_fvm24_32 Homeless Family
coll427_fvm24_33 Churchill Football
coll427_fvm24_34 Thanksgiving Power Outage
coll427_fvm24_35 Thanksgiving Power Outage
coll427_fvm24_36 Over-eaters Anonymous
coll427_fvm24_37 Over-eaters Anonymous
coll427_fvm24_38 Spring 1978
coll427_fvm24_39 Track
coll427_fvm24_40 Emerald Cup Gymnastics
coll427_fvm24_41 UO Baseball
coll427_fvm24_42 UO Track / Voorhees
coll427_fvm24_43 School Security
coll427_fvm24_44 Schools
coll427_fvm24_45 Schools
coll427_fvm24_46 Rust PC
coll427_fvm24_47 Rust PC
coll427_fvm24_48 Park-it
coll427_fvm24_49 Wood Spitter
coll427_fvm24_50 Wood Spitter
["Synopsis
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69674/file/156087#t=0.0,2830.875"}]}]}]}
