Hey, grapefruits are back in season. How about that? Anyways, I'm kind of excited today. The playoffs start. You all know I'm for the White Sox. Good luck. Let me give you a little baseball review of the fruits and vegetables today. What are the hits this week over in the fruit department? Well, like I said, grapefruits are coming back in season out of California this week. Cochilla Valley, four or five, six for a dollar on the small Ruby Reds. Texas coming on next week. Other things in season. Locally, apples and pears, your best double play combination. Very good winter pears, boss and d'Anjo, and also all varieties of apples. Prices are starting to come down, excellent quality. High price fruit. You might balk at the price of bananas this week. They're gonna be about 59 cents a pound, kind of high price because if they're only soft fruit available, you might want to walk past them. Over in the vegetable department, some heavy hitters coming in now. Fall harvest season, a lot of squash coming in. Butternut squash, spaghetti squash, aptly named because when you cook it, the strands of meat come out like spaghetti, and Danish or acorn or table squash coming in right now. All 19 to 39 cents a pound. Of course, we've got zucchini coming in, peppers coming in locally, onions are very good buy, 19 cents a pound, carrots coming in right now. So locally, vegetable season is just about over, but there are still some good vies, and the fall fruits right on us. So, for eyewitness news, hoping to win a World Series for Chicago this year, I'm Terry Potassium.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70647/file/156593#t=45.83,127.91
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70647/file/156593/transcript/87478/annotation/2
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70647/file/156593#t=148.45,149.01
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70647/file/156593/transcript/87478/annotation/3
Speaker 3: Elizabeth Diane Downes hasn't seen her children since July.
