And this will take maybe two hours. If you put a little cup over the cap, it keeps it from drying out. And after two hours, take the cap off, and you'll see the deposit of spores. And these are range in color. And the spore color is probably the most important. Clue to what group of mushrooms you're working with. You can see the difference between these two colors. It's kind of a purplish-brown there. It's any orange or any other black color.
