This time of the year during month of September and October, you have to wear your hunting hat for a little while. Then you have wear your fishing hat a little while, because hunting and fishing seasons overlap. This week I had my fishing hat on. To dispel an old theory that you have to catch mackinaw as soon as the ice comes off of high lakes, or you have be there the first couple of weeks of season, or you miss the fishery, a friend of mine, Bob Marial from Shelter Cove Marina, Call me up this week and he says One sure way to tell whether something is hot or not is to get burned by it. He said if you'll come up I'll show you that Mackinac can be caught year round if you really know what you're doing fishing for Mackinach. I went up this week, we got out on a lake and it didn't take long with an expert like Bob to find a fish. We got one fish that was eighteen three quarters pound, we've got another fish that was nine pounds and had another fish on that we lost. Fishing can just be super. So if you're looking for a place to go this weekend... We've got about five more weeks of fishing left this season looking for a place to go this weekend you might go to Odell Lake try fishing for Mackinaw you can also catch some kokanee and it's beautiful up on the lake at that this time of the year. If you want more details on how to catch big Mackinawe you might ask Bob at Shelter Cove Marina. One thing for sure that he's going to tell you though if you get out there and hook one of these big fish remember keep your tip up. Her cast paper sculptures reflect her fascination with the human form, and her prints, etchings, and lithos display a diversity of textures and colors. A feast for the eyes is available at the Kairos Gallery on the mall. Over a dozen Eugene artists have their work on display, from the two-dimensional paintings and photos, to three-dimensional sculptures in ceramic, wood, and stone. He then resigned before a dismissal action could be instituted. The post office has now turned the investigation over to the US Attorney's office in Eugene.
