They'd invested the proceeds at a high interest rate. And that added $5.7 million to the construction funds. And the newly formed Eugene Arts Foundation was able to raise $1.4 million on its own to pay for some parts of the project, bringing the total additional funds to more than $7 million. As usual, he knows how to pick roles that match up well with his acting character. But as funny or touching as this movie sometimes is, its plot wanders, and I was bored with the film's emphasis on some of the minor characters. Also, there's more profanity or vulgar language in this film per minute than I've seen in quite a while. I'm sure a lot of it is designed to lend credibility to the macho marine image, but it's bound to offend a lot people, so be forewarned. Heartbreak Ridge is rated R. It's playing at the McDonald. That's where authorities located and arrested 43-year-old Terry Lee Connor this morning. Late this afternoon, agents got a court order to search the premises. They are looking for clues as to the whereabouts of Connor's alleged crime partner, 47-year old Joseph William Doherty. He too was believed hiding out in the Chicago area. Both men escaped from federal marshals in Oklahoma City 18 months ago. And the FBI put each escapee on the notorious 10 most wanted list. Since their escape, authorities hold them responsible for a nationwide crime spree. In the northwest, three separate bank robberies in Washington state and one in Eugene, Oregon. In Eugene, the pair allegedly held a banker's wife and teenage son hostage while they ordered the banker to withdraw thousands of dollars. Bank employees didn't even realize that the robbers dressed in business suits had pulled off the stick-ups. In the southwest, the pair is believed to be responsible for kidnappings and bank heists in Phoenix, Reno, and Salt Lake City. They are sought in the south for a holdup in Jacksonville, Florida. And here in the Midwest, their alleged bank stick- ups extend from Oklahoma City to St. Louis, even Milwaukee. In Milwaukee, they again held the bankers' family hostage.
