It might be useful, however, but it has to do with where we've come from there. The first agreement... Was the direct communication, the hotline between the United States and the Soviet Union. The Soviets accepted that, gave an indication that they would. But they didn't. You don't know, you can't walk, you don't even know, God is coming for you. During the study period, it will be possible for the staff and this company of the minor. Therefore, on page four of this document... It does seem to be. Secondly, they determine that played at 3 o'clock will be. Let's look at this in the future, ready? You're just about ready. Here we go. I think we're good. That's two. Two. That's your husband? Yeah. Perfect. We're going to have to bring this thing over up. Good luck. Well, it is a class held here at South Eugene High School in model United Nations. It's a study of international relations. And it gives the students an opportunity to get into the process of United Nations by actually participating. It's just not a matter of the instructor lecturing. They're actually able to participate directly in the whole discussion of the serious problems. For example. Thank you. By the General Assembly, which gives them a legal status. Don't have a seat yet but we're working on it and we don't discourage easily in which the PLO has acted. That is PLO. Thank you. The 12-week course here at South Eugene High School will prepare these students to represent a nation in the United Nations Regional Conference, which will be held in Albany this upcoming December. Art Barron reporting for Eyewitness News at South Eugene High. I think, how did you deal with your problem? I mean, you were raped, and whether you think about it or not, I know you weren't physically harmed that much, but. The man who raped me was black and it was in the south and I knew that it wouldn't be at all fair because he was black, and because I was hitchhiking, neither one of us would be treated properly. How about you, Nancy? I know that you didn't report your experience either. What was the reason for that? Well, I was raped 12 years ago, and I was in college and in an sorority, and there was a lot of social stigma at that time attached to being raped. I was concerned about the Dean of Women finding out, and then my parents would find out, and I didn't know how I was going to deal with that. Yeah. That's great. When is this going to be over? Well, if we can get the shooting done tonight, tomorrow afternoon, it's on the college campus. Very similar to. It affected me in my relationships with my ex-husband and it affected me in my relationship with a lot of different people. I just felt that there was a part of me that was taken away and it was, you know, it was just, it really upsetting to me. Why should we get people to report rapes? Neither of you did, and perhaps that's because of this. I was sure that it was, you know, if you, the only way you could get raped was to be, was to give in. Do you think that's pretty common among people? I think, yeah, a lot of places still assume that the only you can be raped is to be beaten up at the same time. You have to have bruises or knife wounds or a gunshot in the head before you can really be raped otherwise you're agreeing to it. And some of the U of O people who park their cars in our neighborhood let them walk across. Others would be attracted to the bus or not using it. Also not be interested in it again. And I checked the sentence 18 and ordinance 19 don't seem to jive with the implement. Why, this is elementary, my dear Watson. Child's play of deduction. Miss Faulkner, be so good as to play me something of which I am particularly fond. I shall be delighted if I can. If you can, something tells me that Clementi's Opus 36, number 2, is very easy to discern one thing about. What are you doing here, Judson? I beg pardon, sir. I answered the bell. What bell? The drawing room bell, sir! What do you mean, you blockhead? I'm quite sure it rung, sir... And I tell you, it did not! Your butler is quite correct, Mr. Chetwood. The bell did ring. How do you know? Because I rang it. What do you want? I want to send my card to Miss Faulkner. And what right do you have to ring for servants and give orders in my house? And what rights have you to grab my cards from reaching their destination? And how does it happen? City Airport Road and the majority we have a lot of projects they could suggest such things as improvement of route F which is a high priority for those people out in that area and there's local concern about sixth and seventh avenues here in Eugene And Springfield, of course, has their concerns over there. So this is what we'd like to bring out. Thank you. I'm going to be scratching inside my jungle. Very quiet. No one is here. We just talk about it all the time. That sounds good. Things like becoming sick yourself, or learning that someone close to you, a good friend, has become very ill and needs to be institutionalized. Having to confront the fact that some of your friends are dying or have died, or having to interact with people who have recently become bereaved. Those things go up with age. Things that go down with age are of course things that have to do with work and school. Listen in. Don't worry about it. We can't wait. Thank you. I mean, just, uh, you got plenty of room. That's pretty good. This one will probably sit inside with us. The guitar on the tire, the guitar will sit on top. Aggressive hustle, that's how they win games. Gorgeous by Pelham right by the rookie all right now here they go by Washington But Pelham collects it, and McMillan gets the hoop. Is towards against side against Chris and he gets it. Atlanta leads by five. Open shot for Drew. Rams Washington. No ball gets to him. Passed the ball. Park shot shows five seconds. Drew gets it up. And in. I don't play. But if it's the game, most people think the game's not over, it's definitely not over. And please believe me that Jack's going to use every second out there as he can. ...Stop sign, and it's just one now, a domestic, you know, an authentic street here, or any arterial. Here you go, Jasper. Thank you, gentlemen. For the residents of Springfield for any projects there is on the, on the highway, on McKinsey Highway. We would like to see that project include curves and sidewalks to enhance pedestrian safety in the lane. Should include provision for a transit note that provides parking light on the check-in. Thank you, sir. David Keller? The fourth item I wish to call your attention to just as a handout and we'll report back to you. The nutrition community will work with all related problems dealing with student nutrition. They'll develop projects and proposals. So then we discuss probably the total group that had people working on it for some time. I didn't propose that we spend the time on it. Where she's working on the deck. The basic pains and diseases and problems that I was having aren't quite solved, but they're at least well on the way. And I understand more about them and what I can do for myself. Fruits, vegetables, sprouts, and little flesh, and it's very helpful. That he's pointed out. This was the first thing he came to us with. He said, I have eye. He has a lot of energy from the solar plexus region. A lot of feelings, a lot. His spine is pretty straight. It turns over here to the right a little bit. And we're working to have the person experience that particular memory that has caused blockage. We're working allow the person to express their feelings, which they have not been able to do of some locked-up, pinned-up storehouse of negative energy. The technique can work from gentle to adjacent to the medium level work and be very tenacious if the person has sciatic nerve quality. But I don't think I'm in this with Alex Sater. Will we talk about Kelly also? Well, I'd like to talk with him. I don't understand his name or anything. Whatever he says is the schedule time for visits for that year. He said it was up to you. My guess is that you probably not have an opportunity to see him unless you're on the list. OK. He may crap her back. Your name's Dave Golding, which has no regular visit. I'm not trying to create a regular visiting time. Whether or not there is harmony with the local county medical society. One of the things that I have been criticized for was the examination was supposed to be given by I didn't take another quarter. Well, if it staggered out of the office, that was a medical triumph. And the establishment was just as vicious. Everybody knows that prevention is better than cure. But do we have the right, through our duly licensed doctors, to practice prevention? What is on trial here is really the right to practice preventive medicine in all of its ramifications, including nutrition. And in more depth and that's at 9 o'clock this evening. In the final part of our series on alternative medicine, Lisa Stark takes a look at polarity therapy, a method of balancing the energy flows in the body. Chip Wolfstein says that exercises like these and the rest of the techniques involved in polarity therapy have made him a new man. Just five months ago, he had despaired of finding a solution to the pains in his chest. He'd been to numerous doctors. All they could recommend were drugs that he didn't want to take. Then he started working with polarity therapists Kathleen Hunt and Mary Waters. The basic pains and diseases and problems that I was having aren't quite solved but they're at least well on the way and I understand more about them and what I can do for myself. Polarity therapy can be a way of life. Mary and Kathleen are vegetarians, don't drink or use drugs, and don't believe in sex before marriage. They say that to live otherwise goes against the laws of nature. And they say behavior that conflicts with the laws nature causes blockages in the body. The blockages show up as diseases, aches and pains, impairments. And they inhibit the free flow of energy through the body Polarity therapists work to eliminate the blockages through diet, exercise, massage, even counseling. We're working to have the person experience that particular memory that has caused blockage. We're looking to allow the person to express their feelings which they have not been able to do of some locked up, pent up storehouse of negative energy. Kathleen and Mary say that by getting their patients to relax, understand the causes of their illnesses, and even change their lifestyles, they can cure even such chronic diseases as cancer and arthritis. In Eugene, this is Lisa Stark for Eyewitness News. Rick, do you think that'll work in sports? I don't know. Yeah, I'm not real. Incorporated which is a low-income housing project owned and managed by the Presbyterian. You can give low-interest loans, either for new construction or for rehab, and they've been done for both, too, which is given by... Buy a two-bedroom house in West Eugene in 1976, your income needed to be at least $8,400. And that's using the formula that Emily threw out of one-fourth of your gross income, which is the figure that thanks you to qualifying for a loan. To buy the exact same house in west Eugene today, your income needs to be. This amazing increase in the value of land is the chief culprit in Eugene's housing problem. This rate of increase has leveled off recently. It's almost flat right now, but the damage has already been done. It will take years for our incomes to catch up to the values of our land. Of housing in the private sector without help is an impossible. Open space on an R3 lot is 30 degrees. Here's a very ordinary set of apartment buildings in West Side that are made not so ordinary by the wonderful garden in between them. And this comes to some of the strategies that we think we may have to use to get better, higher density housing in New Jersey. Only two pages. How would publishing an article about building one stop the production of weapons? It enables people who want to organize public action campaigns to know exactly which factories to go to and which transportation routes to block and where to stage the demonstration, where to hold your placards. It also gives the organizers of such a campaign the kind of knowledge that they need in order to get credibility for what they're saying. Until the ayatollah he can take his oil and shove it let them eat their oil And so he knows exactly what it costs. And it cost one third that of the nuclear plants we're building in the Northwest. One third the cost of the plants we're going in the northwest. That's in terms of what the electricity will cost. One tenth of the capital cost. These enormous loans and ownerships they make there and they have occasionally gotten our government to come in and intervene on their behalf. I have no sympathy with that at all and they too have made their bed and should lie in it. Come here! Come here!! Involved in the test, but the last day is the clinical testing day. So that's the day that I'll be listening to you clear about. Well, I think according to the 14th Amendment, that a citizen of the United States has a right to due process of law and at least the common criminal that has been charged with a robbery or something has the right to see his accusers and to know what the charges are. I have not been granted that right by the Board of Medical Examiners. And I'd like to get this thing settled once and for all. You've got the date marked on your calendar. So you don't know if that being that test to a number of people starting the 11th. And you'll just be the 13th to take the last day of the exam. That's correct. And I'd like to get this thing settled once and for all. Are all the rollers out? Looks good, guys. Good deal. Somebody kick. I ain't good, Mark. This is great. We can start screaming, let's go. Oh my goodness. 10-Layer stick. If you can't fight for freedom, freedom, freedom, if you can fight for freedom, I can too. I'm Irene, you know. And you said, well, I know you're Irene. Right. Thank you very much. Tens of American multinationals have been, have touched... By saying he's mentally ill. Thank you very much. The next speaker is Yusuf. He's a representative of the most... Almost every man spends some time in jail, and the prison's being tortured. So there is some, we do have some responsibility to the world. We've been screwing around with diplomatic situations long enough. I think if I was tied up and blindfolded in some damn embassy and didn't know if I was going to live or not, I'd just assume somebody came and got me. Is the whole state of America all over the world or is it just us? The NBC Takeover is entering its fifth week, but emotions are running just as high as ever. And a controversy which started pitting Americans against Iranians may end up pitting Americans against each other. At the downtown mall, this is Lisa Stark for Eyewitness News. You're gay, we are. I think in Bain, Walker's a sophomore. Here's Walker from the point, 24. But Matt. This is Hester against Walker. The offense, he's got to make that first pass and then hope something happens from there. Nice play. Nice pass from Walker. He has nine points here in the first half. Here's Walker. Gives to Bain. Hartshorne's all alone. Takes it in and scores. Bain gives to Ed Starks. It's going to be off the bracket. Clark has position. Pulls down the rebound. Off court to Sealy. Ron Burns makes a move, steps in the lane. Smart basketball played by the Ducks. Nice drive back Williams ahead to John Gregg. Hard short in the corner. Good game, nice ball. Great touch-off play by... Yeah, I suppose that might be the way it is. What are you doing? What are we doing? What are they doing? Aren't they pretty? Oh good, let's know which one. Are they pretty? Good, let's know which one. We do a couple like that since we've got blue. Yeah, let's do a half of this. But they don't show up as much as the blue. Oh, yeah. Oh, really? Lots of Douglas fir and pine She has them the short needle pine and then on down the table. There is the Port Orchid Cedar and the blue spruce is in a Beautiful. This is the blue Spruce. We use lots of that and also the holly Some of them have little berries and seeds which adds to the interest of the of the reef Yeah. It's boring. Yeah, the scale and a lot of times, well, here are a bunch of old berries that we don't want. So you sort of sort of make it look pretty. Where do you get the olive? You know, we have one of these things by yard that has orange berries on it. In that sense of it. Okay, now, Community Correction Services is the product firm. That's who you call. And some of the services could be done by a private fund. Probably, that's more cost effective than the state could do it. Thank you very much. Well, I think it is merely that the private sector is now entering some of the public waters and that is kind of a threat. But if the state can't afford to hire those people, then what good does it do? Well, that's my stance also. I think that we're providing those positions and that would not otherwise be provided. What's the client reaction to this? The client reaction has been no different than dealing with a state employee. Your turn. It's sighted. Would you do it all over again? I don't know if we're having something right now. Sure. Show them your medal that the crew of the ship gave them for being a hero. Let's go up there. I'm not sure, it's in Spanish. It's in Yugoslavian. How, uh, how is she doing now, Chief? In great shape. We're just taking her out for a little clearance here to check up. Excuse me. I think that Santa Claus is everywhere. I guess we interpret him differently in different countries, but everyone feels like they can give and feel good at the same time when they do. Good move, good move. Keep, keep, keep. I think it teaches us a little bit about how good we can be. They showed us a lot about running, rebounding, and defense. They played super defense on us. We didn't know what to do against them. I think in future games it will help us. We'll probably have to work on a press break now. I think they showed us that that's one of our weaknesses. So actually, even though we lost to them by that much, we actually gained a lot of knowledge. Keep, keep, keep. Come on everybody, come on, help her out. I think it teaches us a little bit about how good we can be. They showed us a lot about running, rebounding, and defense. They played super defense on us. We didn't know what to do against them.
