I'm going to see you like that. Once around, a couple, well, no, I mean, just putting that there. Jack is a member of the firm of... For a group of Fernridge Junior High students, their exciting week in Washington, D.C. Finally came to an end. Amidst family, friends, and posters, their bus pulled into the Eugene Depot after four long days on the road. We're never going to get out of here. What are you going to tell? You're getting out of your face. Get over there. That's the police. Get over here. Get over. Get over! Get over, get over. Get over that. Get over it. Down July the 5th, 1968, so it's been a bit... He and I had made an agreement before he went to Vietnam, well long before that, that if anything ever happened to him I would complete my college education because he wasn't pleased when I dropped out and that I would buy a house. He believed owning a home really represented security. When you don't have a full accounting of the circumstances, you never know for sure. As time passes, then the chances become slimmer and slimmer, but there's always that slim chance when you haven't had accurate information. Bye! I deplore this move for amnesty. I just can't imagine that amnesties would be provided before the MIA accounting or before they had felt they had really done everything they could for an accounting. And when the move was made for ammesty, it was unbelievable to me that at least they didn't make mention of the importance of the M.I.A. Issue. It wasn't even coupled with a statement about M.Is. I just cannot fathom that. Not as great a potential as there are in other places in the United States, but we do have four percent of the children who are first grade unimmunized. That could be a substantial number if that represents all the children in Lane County. It won't have any impact at all on our customers that are receiving the gas under firm contracts. The only customers that would be affected at all would be the industrial interruptible. And we have already made contact with these customers and have indicated to them that we would. Like to make some gas available for movement to the east or the to the Midwest if they have adequate supplies of alternate fuels to use during that period so that they there will be no impact on employment by any industries and this is strictly a voluntary program. It was really exciting. Like, at first we were kind of, because there was all these big, beautiful bands, and when we got out there, the people were all going, I don't know what again, it was really neat. Did you feel that there was a warm, friendly attitude towards you back east? Yeah, there really was. People were going out of their way to do things for us. How about all the sightseeing you did? What was that like? It was really neat. Exhausting, like we get up, I don't know, seven o'clock in the morning, get a shower at a school right down the block, and then we go run, literally run, to see the sights. It was very neat though. Right now. Well, you just have to concentrate on the art, on the stick fencing itself, and you get to know yourself, the moves that you can make, and the meditative thoughts that come along with that. If you've ever meditated before, it's like, it just helps you get within yourself and release the inner self and the inner thoughts that you hold within you. It gives you a sense of freedom so you can do that. Self-defense is meditation for Norman, self-defense for some people, but for me it's just a lot of fun. Janice Williamson, Eyewitness News, in Eugene. Heart and a flower. I'm going to draw a fireplace to keep them warm. Chad, what do you have? What is this picture up here? A fireplace. And what's it for? To get a worm to think of worm things instead of called cellulophial worms. There's a lot of snow there and they can't go out of their house. So what's your letter gonna do for them? Try to keep their mind off the ice. Hey Ricky, what did you do for the kids back in Buffalo? I drew a picture. And what else. I hate these snow shoes. You think they can use those snowshoes back there? Nope. Why not? Cause they're paper. That's a complete accident, but it was a good thing. But now time. I think they should look for one that is heavily built, thick, insulated inside with fire brick and things like this. Also how stable it is when it sets up. Is it easy to turn over? How close can they install this to combustibles? Of course the appearance appeals to women I would assume and most of the stoves that they make now are mixed good decor in the home. But I think basically the stability of the stove, the thickness... How well it's put together. Oh It isn't exactly Palm Springs weather here in Oregon, and kids at McCorna grade school are keeping fairly warm. It's the kids in Buffalo that are freezing, and these grade school kids are trying to do something to help them. What was it? Seen that that stove is installed properly so it's safe for you to use, and that's the only reason. At $5. I don't know exactly what's in the... And in like any new situation, it is a little difficult to get all of the rough edges off and to be able to work smoothly. And I think the new board is trying to break in just like you'd break in an automobile engine. And it takes a little time and is not quite efficient in the beginning. And you can't run smoothly and get a lot of good mileage. But I think they're all trying to do what they feel is right. I'm not feeling any more pressure now than I did before to do my job more efficiently and better. I've always tried to do that. I guess perhaps a personal feeling would be that it appears as though some people don't recognize that county officials are trying to do a good job. I don't know that I could really identify any major impacts, there has been some discussion about improving some of the personnel services, respectively making some changes, nothing specifically has been identified with respect to actual program changes that are expected or personnel changes at this point. Public May Lane County Department heads are giving the new commission, specifically Archie Weinstein, some chance to work into the job and get a little familiar with their situations. But privately one county employee told me they're a little tired of getting bricks thrown at them all the time. They'd like a few good words. Ken Strobeck, Eyewitness News in Eugene. People will bring a bottle, you know, they'll rip it off or get it somehow. They'll bring it to school and get like maybe five, six friends. Just go stand around and pass it around. Pretty normal for people to drink. You see people drinking every day. It's not really anything new, it's kind of normal. It is one of the biggest things in society today. I mean, right between here and here and after the transfer and I just don't know what I'm going to take up here. So, yeah, thank you for your time. I think it's on. Nothing fake and this place is just, and I think. Receive the cover for later means the five years down the line, they can still put these hearing blocks in and then they'll take the postage and then we'll take them out. A lot of people probably overlooked these two teams, but if they beat us, we're almost done for the league because we have Washington, Washington State, and UCLA back again. And these four games are a must. If we lose one of them, we'll be way down. Let's talk about the Stanford game, first of all. What about that team? What particular problems will they present? Stanford has changed their style of play with the New Colts. They play a lot more like we do now, and they play a faster game. And their key player, we feel, is their guard, Bratz. He's been averaging about 20 points a game and doing a good job. And if we could stop him, we should be able to beat him. I think he's a key to their ball club. The high school kids say alcohol is easy to get and it's easy to bring into the schools. And although some expressed a fear that drinking at school was rather risky, they say there's always the alternative of drinking at weekend parties and away from school. It seems that the kids look at drinking as just an ordinary part of their social life. Pat Boyle, Eyewitness News in Eugene. I love you. I want to hug you now. I want you to hug me now. Hug me now, hug me. Hug me, hug, hug. Businesses will know what they will have to do in order to comply with the law to where their facilities will be accessible and then we can work in some of the jobs that are right now inaccessible because of the facilities. That's what will happen under employment. Under education, it will free money for not only the colleges, but for the elementary and secondary schools to make their facilities. Accessible to where we can get equal education and have all the programs open to us. And if I have a good milk friction as far as I go, and it's been very cooperative, but... We're going to be getting telephoned in a few right now. That crunch, it does about like one out of every seven years. People are getting factuated yet. But there is the poem going on. So I'll just add that. And it took us six days up here to find out from them on that. I'm waiting for a call from the members to whether he's going to get a phone interview to find out why he's not signing the regular hours to do things about the dissemination. And since 95% of the people are unemployed, it's very, very important.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69676/file/156089#t=419.2,2454.62
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69676/file/156089/transcript/86194
["English [Transcript]
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69676/file/156089/transcript/86194/annotation/2
https://d9jk7wjtjpu5g.cloudfront.net/file_transcripts/associated_files/000/086/194/original/trint_Coll427_fvm26_transcript.vtt?1762203912
text/vtt
en
https://d9jk7wjtjpu5g.cloudfront.net/file_transcripts/associated_files/000/086/194/original/trint_Coll427_fvm26_transcript.vtt?1762203912
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69676/file/156089/index/51621
["Coll427_FVm26 [Index]
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69676/file/156089/index/51621/annotation/3
["Title
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69676/file/156089#t=0.0,2466.511
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69676/file/156089/index/51621/annotation/4
coll427_fvm26_01 Seed Industry
coll427_fvm26_02 Lane Reg Art Mat
coll427_fvm26_03 Natural Gas President
coll427_fvm26_04 Hospital Ground-breaking
coll427_fvm26_05 Veneta Poli___?
coll427_fvm26_06 Weather
coll427_fvm26_07 Fern Ridge
coll427_fvm26_08 MIA Observance
coll427_fvm26_09 MIA
coll427_fvm26_10 Crabbing
coll427_fvm26_11 Measles
coll427_fvm26_12 Nat.
