It's time to get out and chase a couple of them. One of the things I want to share with you today is how to fish farm. One of my favorite methods to use is a long fiberglass telescopic limber pole. A couple of jigs fished about two or three feet deep and a little float. It's really easy. The object is to get those jigs in to where the crappie live. Now, crappies live in around the edge of the brush. So what you do is you use a long pole like this so you can set it right down in the edge of the brush and pick it straight back up without getting hung. You can set back down in again right by the edge the brush and pick straight back up without get hung on the weeds. The reason the crappies are in the reeds and the reason you fish in there, primary food source for crappie is minnows. The minnow live in and around the weeds for protection. The crappis come right in there after them. If you put a MENA imitation in there... You can catch them like that. So you use a long pole like this. I sit in the front of my boat, take a sculling paddle, and just pull myself around the lake. All you have to do is just set it in around the weeds, right next to the edge of the weeds where the minnows would be. And the float, when it stops on top of the water, gives the bait enough jig that the crappie thinks it's a minnow. It's a real fun way to fish for crappies with a long limber pole. You get a nice one on there. It's all you can handle for a few minutes. You might give her a try. If you're out there, though, remember, with this long pull, you don't have to keep your tip up. They've been at it since five o'clock this morning and the pace is furious. You notice just a twinge of excitement and tension here. They have about three minutes to load each truck full of 20 tons of cement. Then they make the eight mile trip to McKenzie-Willamette hospital. Four hours into the big pour, about one-fourth of the foundation for the auxiliary wing of the hospital has been smoothed over. Workers dance over the treacherous lattice of steel rods. A snake-like pump regurgitates everything that frantic cement trucks can feed them. All the concrete for the three-foot slab has to be poured today, or the building might have structural problems. The plot in Brief is about a famous bordello set in the middle of the Florida Everglades and the boys from Angel Beach High School who try to get back at the club's owner after they pay him money for girls and services that never materialize. When they're not plotting revenge, the guys are playing pranks, chasing girls, hanging out at the local drive-in and chasing girls. The film has an R rating for nudity and language, and let's face it, it's a raunchy movie, and I hated myself for laughing, but at times I did anyway. Porky's is aimed at a very specific group of movie goers, a younger crowd, and it should make money off of them. Well, if video junk food's not to your liking, you might consider seeing Quest for Fire. It's the science fiction love story that tells how primitive man discovered fire, the change of seasons, the missionary position, and a sense of humor, all in just a few short lessons. Our Stone Age Romeo is sent by his tribe to find more fire after what they have is stolen from them. They don't know how to make it yet, you see. Well, on his way, he stumbles across Ica and shantily played by Rae Don Chung in full body paint. Her tribe has learned how to the stuff, so she teaches him that and some other things. And a Stone Age romance is born. Quest for Fire has some hefty names in the credits. Desmond Morris for one who worked on body gestures and Anthony Burgess who created special languages. The film has no major flaws, although there is one unbelievable escape and the makeup on the primitive animals is not so good. But on the whole, Quest for Fire is an interesting story that makes you think a bit about what our origins really are. It's the creation of Morris Miniature Car Specialist Bruce Wyman, who needed something to deliver other Morrises around the country on. So four years ago, Bruce sat down with a Morris Miniatures pickup like this one and a box of chalk. He drew up blueprints on his garage floor as he went and made the whole thing from scratch. The operation required taking off the flatbed and converting the thing to a three-axle. But after six months, the restoration was complete. Morris's are nifty little cars.
