Well, I was going to hold a small service this week for the local strawberry crop. This rain finally finished them off, so there's very few strawberries on the market now. Also, this rain has been very damaging to the local cherry crop, particularly the sweet cherries, your bings, your lamberts. You're going to see higher prices on cherries. And those of you wanting pie cherries...really, the better pie cherry season comes in about two weeks. So, kind of hold off. The best news in the local fruit market, blueberries coming on now. Excellent quality. The rain hasn't damaged the blueberry market. The crop is coming in very good now. Prices are about $1 or so a pound. Out of California, we're getting peaches, nectarines, and plums. Good quality, but the prices have not come down because of that weather down there, that heat. Anyway, swinging into the local vegetable market, this damp wetness really hasn't caused much of a problem for our local vegetables. In fact, it's helped. Lettuce coming in beautifully right now, particularly leaf lettuce, romaine, red leaf, green leaf salad bowl. Head lettuce out of California, a little bit higher right now. So you might try an alternative. Other good local vegetables, beets, green beans, gold rush, zucchini, squash, cucumbers, and finally snow peas, Chinese snow peas. Excellent raw Irwin salads coming in now, very good supply. Best news out of California, this week, tomatoes. Been very high, very goodbye this week.
