Last year, local postal authorities decided to give in to community need in Marcola and build the city its own branch. Post office officials selected this site off Marcola Road for the structure and came up with an innovative plan for the building. They decided they'd let bids on both the property and construction, then lease back the completed facility from the low bidder. That low bidders was Bob Olson of Roseburg. Olson's attorney, Robert Moulton, says the contractor thought he had a pretty good deal going until Lane County officials ordered him to stop work last Thursday.
