Does the audience make much difference? It's yes and no. People are people, and they may be slightly one way or the other, they may be quieter, for instance, they may be more excitable because of a certain kind of interest that they have. The artist brings a background to a concert, the audience also brings a background to the concert. And what happens in the communication between the artist and the audience has always fascinated me because that's where the electricity happens. You do all the work, you do you have to do ninety-five percent of the work before you arrive on the stage, otherwise you're kind of fumbling and staggering around. And if you're prepared and the audience is there and they're prepared, something electric and dynamic can happen. And it's always different. That's why there's nothing like a live performance. You don't find it duplicated. It's always new, it's always interesting in different kinds of ways. And it's a sum of its parts. It's not just the artist and it's not just the audience.
