This patch, for example, should be ready to eat in a week or maybe two, while other plants that I put in two weeks on down the line from this one should be providing fresh corn into the kitchen right on through the middle of September. Well, succession planting works real well for other crops, too. If your spring lettuce is going to seed now, you don't need to skip salads for rest of the summer, just put some more seeds in the ground for a fall crop. Beans tend to produce a lot for a short period of time, so plant two or three areas of beans a few weeks apart. Your second planting should be going in right about now. And if you like new potatoes better than old potatoes, and you have some space in the garden, put some spuds in the ground now and you'll have a good harvest in October. Well, this is also a good time to do a little unplanting. If you're already dealing with a glut of zucchini, for example, or you see a few too many pumpkins on the horizon, simply unplant a few of the producers.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/71161/file/157112#t=1217.46,1274.46
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/71161/file/157112/transcript/88497/annotation/44
Speaker 17: Tickets on the left, passes on the right, nobody gets in without a smile.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/71161/file/157112#t=1317.77,1321.97
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/71161/file/157112/transcript/88497/annotation/45
Speaker 20: Once again, the Oregon Country Fair is upon us, complete with 350 booths, live entertainment, parades, and wall-to-wall people.
