One of the things that will keep you from falling down in the river is if you've got something good on the bottom of your shoes to keep you form falling down. Now there's a dozen different things you can do and there's dozen different kinds of waders you can wear. Let me show you what I come up with to fish in the summertime. It's hot weather out right now and the cooler you can be the better off you are. So I've got on a pair of Seal Dry waders. That's the brand name of them. They're latex rubber waders and they're real thin and lightweight. Bye. But you gotta have wading shoes to go with them. Now you can go down and pay about a hundred bucks for a pair of wading shoes that has felt on the soles or that has aluminum cleats on the sole and they work great. They'll keep you upright in the river. But let me show you a little something that I've done. I've just taken a regular old pair of shoes here. They're just a pair old leather shoes but they had flat soles on them. I ground the sole down so they were Nice and smooth. Took contact cement and just glued a piece of indoor-outdoor carpet to them. It's real good quality carpet that doesn't have any rubber on the back, so it'll stick good to the shoes and won't come off. You'd be surprised how much that helps you when you step up on a slick rock out here in the river. It really gives you some mobility in the River, besides that it's a whole lot safer than wading around out there with rubber sole shoes on. So if you do a lot of wading and you want to be safe, put some carpet on the bottom of your boots and see how well it works. Or you can run down and buy you a pair of hundred dollar wading shoes whichever one you prefer but if you've got some carpet on your shoes you get out there and don't fall down when you hook one of these big fish you can get a whole lot closer to the fish you're looking for anyway this is Terry Coleman with a tip from eyewitness sports
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70866/file/156817#t=1750.17,1870.38
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70866/file/156817/transcript/89974/annotation/122
Speaker 30: The evaluator, or the director, and then we would deliver a message with that type of lottery game.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70866/file/156817#t=1889.29,1895.85
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70866/file/156817/transcript/89974/annotation/123
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70866/file/156817#t=1897.76,1901.2
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70866/file/156817/transcript/89974/annotation/124
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70866/file/156817#t=1903.1,1904.94
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70866/file/156817/transcript/89974/annotation/125
Speaker 32: Therefore... Many, many more. The weather has been playing an important factor all season long with fresh fruits and vegetables. First, we had too much heat, caused a lot of the products to come on quickly. Seasons were over too fast. Things have mellowed out, and seasons are kind of stretching out. Over in the vegetable apartment, good things. Green beans, they were suffering a little bit because the heat was causing them to wilt. Well, since it's cooled a little bit. Green beans have come back very nicely. Green beans in season now. A lot of the local crops, all kind of related. Really nice things to eat also with these cool evenings coming on. Green peppers, red bell peppers, yellow bell peppers. All of your bell peppers high in vitamin C, particularly the red and yellow peppers coming in locally right now. Tomatoes coming on strong. Walla walla sweet onions. Sweet corn. And the corn, I'm going to tell you folks, it is really sweet right now! Excellent sweet corn. Don't miss out on the Oregon Golden Jubilee sweet corn over in the fruit department Again, the weather has been somewhat of a factor Blueberry season had locally has lasted a bit longer because the weather is cool down although blueberry season is now Just about over other things coming in just about over peach season another couple weeks We'll be getting into the veterans a lot of canning peaches and freestone the eating peaches will start to be phasing out But they're still very good You can tell falls in the air pears coming on now Bartlett pears out of, California about 50 cents a pound, so pretty soon it's going to be fall. Best buys out of California, melons right now. If you haven't tried a cassava or a Persian or a Crenshaw or even a honeydew or a cantaloupe, try them, because they're very sweet now out of California and very reasonably priced. Also seedless grapes, although do expect some shattering, meaning the grapes are getting so full of sugar and so ripe that they're literally falling off of the little grape vines. But the grapes, very good right now, as low as 50 cents per pound. Best buying the vegetables this week. All the new crop potatoes, they've been real mushy, while we're getting into new crop bakers, new crop breads and whites, and very reasonably priced. Another good thing for those cool evenings. So, think melons and grapes and potatoes. Let me give you, for example, a board direction on offer of your revenues from the reduction in the cash balance for the carryover, the elimination of the revenue sharing program at the federal level, and a decline in ONC timber revenues due primarily not to a reduction in cut, but a reduction in the prices that they're receiving for that cut. And to summarize the The gap between revenues and expenditures, first of all, we do project that next fiscal year, that gap is likely to be $1.8 million between revenues and expenditures for fiscal year 86-87, and a gap of $1,25 million in fiscal year 87-88.
