I got a call from a friend of mine in the Emerald Bass Club the other day. And when those guys go to the coast and catch a couple of fish and come back, it's tough for them to get their hands closer together than their shoulders. Well, they told me that the bass were hidden in shallow water. As a matter of fact, the comment that he used was, them big ones are in the shallows. To a bass fisherman that's fishing the coast lakes, He has to change his approach to fishing about this time of the year. One of the things that he has to do is use a shallow running plug, such as this buzz bait on the surface, or a shallow runnin' plug like this to get into shallow water. One of things that the bass do in their normal cycle of feedings and breeding cycle throughout the year is in the wintertime, they're in deep water. As the spring warms the water, Thank you. The fish come to shallower water, make them more accessible to the fishermen. As they become more accessible to the fisherman, the more fun they are to catch. Bass that are laying in shallow water looking for anything that intrudes their area makes it very difficult for them not to come out and take that bait. Here's a little bait that works really well this time of the year. It's another shallow crank bait. They are very, very close to small fish which are in the lake. This happens to be a small bass. But any small fish which intrudes a bass's water that's laying in shallow water and protecting a feeding area, very well might run out and take one of these if it's retrieved slow. If you have a chance to get out there and fish for these big bass, happen to hook a big one, remember. Keep your tip up. Keep him out of the weeds.
