Administration is moving us in the Persian Gulf would eventually lead to confrontation between the two superpowers. Washington is already talking about the use of tactical nuclear weapons in such a confrontation. And once you cross that threshold, then we have the lid off and we move from tactical to strategic nuclear weapons. So my point is to raise a voice to protest, to try to stop the first step. And then stand back from the abyss and look at where we're headed and what the long-term implications are. If oil is our national interest, which it is out there, I think then we should change our value system in this country to institute mandatory conservation laws, not just voluntary requests, but laws, and cut off that dependency on Persian Gulf oil. And let's bring down the god of the car and raise up the sanctity of human life. Thank you. Why weren't the petitioners told two weeks ago that this might be a problem? I believe that petitioners are advised of this situation as one of their sponsors is a legislator who is very well qualified in this field. Little Bird in Bio-Poets 20. It's come to a head because the owners living in Arizona just sat down there and refused to respond to any of our complaints. We felt the service was deteriorating at various times. We wrote write letters to them. We wouldn't hear from them. And then they raised the rate without giving us an opportunity to express our feelings. And that brought it to the head. It takes twice as many people, and twice as much as it takes. This is why I'm here, to find out if there is a way to start, because I certainly want to know. But from my point of reference and from what has been reported to the county and what they have reported back to the commissioners, I don't feel that it's warranted. Thank you. Thank you very much. Yeah. OK. Among those are other locations for the disposal or other ways. For example, right across from their plant on River Avenue, across the river, there's a lot of vacant land. That's never been considered at all. It was the original, the original holding the three times. What's never been officially stated, but then we definitely feel that the undestand is, if this proposal comes into being, that it'll just be a door opener for the rest of their metropolitan flood plan, eventually. Yes, we have definitely decided to fight them at this point and are talking about hiring an attorney to look at exactly what our legal rights are. On this matter in just the first public meeting. He has the same rights that all of the citizens of the United States have, and we have not contacted him regarding the sale of the land. We could contact him with leasing of the lands, but nothing like that has been indicated by the Commission. It's not my decision. The Commission's decision. What if I had nothing to do with that? That means that I'm going to be fine. I'm not going to have to worry about it. I'm just going to do what I need to do. I'm gonna do what you need to know. That's what I'm doing. That's right. You need to think about what you're doing. The State Liquor Storage is kept around because the Oregon Liquor Control Commission has close ties with organized crime. You Why do Chinese people celebrate Chinese New Year? Is it to celebrate Chinese new year? It's to celebrate the Chinese New year. It's the year of the rat. It's a year of rat. The children celebrate the new year. The Chinese New Years are celebrated. After the Chinese new years, people eat dinner. The most important reason is to respect ancestors because we feel the road is very important in the family and It's a good opportunity for family reunion. Normally people they Come back from far away Places just for the New Year We're not, we're not ever going to see it better, and like all Americans, we go along so long, and then we blow, and this is where we are. Yeah. That's what's going to happen to it all for the... I think certainly at this point there's a lot of frustration with Dave Burtz as a leader. As far as respect as a man, respect for his position, he's respected, highly respected in that regard. But as far as his job as a leadership role, there's a lot of frustration. You think he's done his job? I think that there needs to be improvement. I thought it was the difference between compulsive arbitration and negation, and now they never did. It wasn't any different at all. And, yes, I knew the story. Not for the middle of the... And believed in the perfectibility of the political process. He didn't believe in cynicism. He didn't just gloss over things. But coming out here speaking in his name, I think the thing to talk about is that there's another side to our present discouragement and we better get on with it. I don't know what else I can do to help you know about this. If I turn 21, what's happening in the state? It may get to my department pretty much like LA does or all the other agencies all over the country. It's a neat experience to learn it, and we have to go... Probably, maybe you can work with different people. Why was it a neat experience to learn it? What did you get out of learning it? Because it's different, not like school. You My name is I don't know what the public thinks it is, but I've never had to try to double-recognize the answer if it comes not just from Washington, but from most of the institutions opposed to it. Thank you very much. When people can be so cold They'll hurt you if you can't deserve it If you're so strong, if you let them I'll let them There's no way we can assure that we can make the best decision at this point in time with the information we have, either within the state or within the country. People don't know basically what the costs of dying are and what kind of services the dying patient needs. Last fall, a couple of busloads of patients of mine did go to Portland and met with the executive secretary, John E. Welling, and during the process of that meeting, he was asked, if the members of the board of medical examiners had to take day three of flex, do you think they could pass the exam? And he said, no, I frankly do not think so. No, I don't. I ask the board to remember this comment. Well, of course, I'm delighted to know that I passed the written exam. I'm still very concerned about the oral exam. I do not think that it's going to be fair. I'll be very surprised if I get a fair exam with an oral examination. I'm going to fight that. We ought to be able to put equipment on the track without sending 18 billion on the rail bill. Our problem is a resource problem. The number may be off, but something like $75 billion to build the executive staff meeting with the people that are in conference last, and it shouldn't be talked about quite often. We are wasting half of what it is that we use, and that's an incredible situation. But it is so much better than all of the rest of the industrialized world that it's critical that we keep some perspective about what our choices are. We still produce more than anybody but Saudi Arabia, and in some days more than the Saudis. We waste half of what it is we use. We literally could become self-sufficient with a series of steps that are out ahead of us. Party can stand on for more than 48 hours and I want it just to be problem is a smart problem. Thank you. If there are some problems here, I have to share a part of the blame, because I did support this bill coming out of committee. And you, knowing what you knew about the bill, you thought you had 50 days to collect the signatures. That's correct. Yeah, that's a good little tip. We can adjust compliance schedules inside the final compliance date to accommodate any special needs that a company might have given these market conditions. We have a company that is shut down. Is that your goal in dealing with air quality standards? Certainly not. Closure of industry is not a good solution to air pollution. We have three men right here. Myself when I'm doing this only. The only reason I'm here is because of Mr. Farnham and his family, and I wouldn't... I think clearly it's a political intent of the union leadership to develop public forms of their issues and being ready to start negotiations next month with us that time when we talk about management rights and union rights. And so I think that's one of the purposes. I think the second purpose is to try to find someone more in tune with their ideas than I am. I think that I'd like to invite the people to represent the American world. I think that it's unfortunate that the union leadership is trying to portray people who are not getting the services they're entitled to. And we are delivering a lot of services to the union. Do you have any concerns about your success in reelection? Thank you very much. Integrated, so that the quality of life is improved in more ways than just the question of accessibility to a vehicle, but also the noise and the options that it provides, the transit system provides in keeping a neighborhood healthy or a downtown healthy or whatever. I think we may get to the point where we... Good. Not because of policy, but I guess... Well, it begins with policy here in the office, but I think the fact... The policy changes that I have made since I've been here is one that the department's open now. And the blinds that were a big factor in this negative image that we had are now open. And the front door is unlocked as much as we can remember to unlock it when we come in and out of it. But I think the department is returning to Coburg rather than all the surrounding environment. We're back on $300. That's not $300? Yeah, $300, yes. And all of them are adjusted with a value of $90. Thank you. I haven't been back, but I just sensed by the time I left, what was happening, and it seems like not the case in the history of these things. I'm here to let know the American Jewish community about the fallacious plight and then to ask them their support because after all we are Jews and today in 1980s to see that Jews are salt-slavery is unbelievable. So the American community must find ways to rescue this permanent Jews and bring them to Israel. So in the Bible you can find everything, the holy land, the land of Ani, and the temple, and David and Solomon. And personally, I don't feel that this has been put out to tell you how to have a case done. There is an indication that people. Equivalent capacity, and right now the engine is 2 million plus. It's super for stress, and it's the only form of exercise for many people that are asthmatic or have had back injuries or a lot of other things. Program here, the New Green Parks and Recreation. School lessons cannot be offered while city pools are closed. The city's proposed budget savings cannot be justified if either one tile... I would say, I flam daily and each day I could count at least one. After years, there have been quite a number of firms that have been... Thank you. Thank you. I would like to drive a roll of white and imagine not more than but the thing is can you afford it? Can we afford to keep on keeping these schools open? Can we have four to do all of these things and so that you are demanding? I? Feel that you aren't asking too many questions or you're asking too much of our city council when we don't have the money My name is Wayne Stevens, I live at 3125 Alder, and for the past time I inherited to be through durable palsy victims what Helen Keller was through the blind and deaf. She has that capability. And she gained this confidence in herself. OK. OK. Thank you. OK. We went downtown yesterday on a lunch hour to pass out flyers and reminders of this boycott. We got really good response. We got good response from some of the merchants. One of the merchant, in fact, said, good, I hope you guys win. I could do that. This type of shopping takes a little more effort, but there are some definite advantages. I'm not paying for the packaging, I know exactly what ingredients go into the items I buy, and I can buy as much or as little as I want of each item. Now I realize not everyone wants 10 pounds of grit, but I'm sure you can find something you like. In Eugene, this is Peggy Jo Abraham for Eyewitness News. With looking at very large budgets. I have had, I am not an expert on analyzing of the feelings of the citizens of that area and constitute a clear mandate by the people to continue a cooperative city school district swim program.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69642/file/156055#t=18.4,2576.42
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69642/file/156055/transcript/86167
["English [Transcript]
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69642/file/156055/transcript/86167/annotation/2
https://d9jk7wjtjpu5g.cloudfront.net/file_transcripts/associated_files/000/086/167/original/trint_Coll427_fv471_transcript.vtt?1762203595
text/vtt
en
https://d9jk7wjtjpu5g.cloudfront.net/file_transcripts/associated_files/000/086/167/original/trint_Coll427_fv471_transcript.vtt?1762203595
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69642/file/156055/index/51607
["Coll427_FV471 [Index]
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69642/file/156055/index/51607/annotation/3
["Title
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69642/file/156055#t=0.0,2582.627
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69642/file/156055/index/51607/annotation/4
coll427_fv471_01 The Gut
coll427_fv471_02 Hatfield
coll427_fv471_03 Petition Recap
coll427_fv471_04 LTD Petitions
coll427_fv471_05 Albany Demo
coll427_fv471_06 McKenzie Cable
coll427_fv471_07 Chinese N.Y.
coll427_fv471_08 Agripac
coll427_fv471_09 Whittenberg
coll427_fv471_10 UO Gym
coll427_fv471_11 UO Gymnastics
coll427_fv471_12 Chinese
coll427_fv471_13 McKenzie Cable
coll427_fv471_14 Cable Recap
coll427_fv471_15 Chinese N.Y.
coll427_fv471_16 Hospice
coll427_fv471_17 Burke's Poll
coll427_fv471_18 WIRTZ
coll427_fv471_19 Burk's Recap
coll427_fv471_20 Bethel Sing
coll427_fv471_21 Bethel Sing
coll427_fv471_22 WIRTZ Recap
coll427_fv471_23 Bethel Sing
coll427_fv471_24 Royal Passes
coll427_fv471_25 Goldy
coll427_fv471_26 Clowns
coll427_fv471_27 LTD Petition-B.
