Those were left. And to whom each department manager currently reports and should be accountable. The second issue was the designation of the removal of all department managers subject to their rough. The General Administrator was given additional responsibilities in terms of not just that of a coordinator. But as a coordinator and director of county administrative activity. While not showing some of the smaller units. Of general services, such as the word processing. Law library Thank you. Actually, A through N has to go east and O through Z the other way and there's a lot of people here and I hope we don't flood some of the local restaurants. See more or less what things are. One important thing to notice about the synopsis is while there's a good deal of similarity between these three, this one we substituted as carbon We'll start in a little bit. When we went to the city council and asked for changes in the code, we asked for changes only in the rate structure and the maximum penalty. We did not change any of our enforcement techniques. We do not change the criteria we use for enforcement. The petitions that you did. It has so many errors in it that it alludes to the fact that we've changed all of our procedures and that's not correct. I think the person using a festite has a responsibility always to use it correctly, properly, safely, make sure that he's using the correct chemical to control the correct test and all that. A lot of this information is on the label. But I think there's a larger concern, too, that as you use a chemical in any particular place, every situation can't be described on the labels and covered, and there's an area for professional judgment. Okay Ready? Sure. We'll let you know. From my experience, it takes a special talent, a special expertise, and a lot of support to be effective in the contractual relationships that units of government have with the private sector, whether it be the bidding of a job, the encouragement of bids for a job and equally important We've got to get people organized and a movement going so we can be effective in the near future. What's it going to take to be effective? I think it's going to a lot of people taking a lot personal responsibility. And that is getting out and writing and saying to other people we don't want this registration. We don't feel it's necessary. And a lot group mobilization. I'm assuming that all of you have been reading the newspapers and have some basic knowledge whether induction should be started right away, whether registration ought to be carried out automatically by computer or food. For the HMO and its management to avoid excess inappropriate treatment for its members. We are under very strict budget. Although some HMOs establish separate facilities for the treatment of their particular patients, and these are usually referred to as group practice HMO, SelectCare was designed to utilize the existing resources in Lane County in order to eliminate duplication of services and to take advantage of the very high quality services already being provided at the local level. Members. Currently, there are 290 positions in LIPA. I'd like to ask Donahue to add a little bit of that up. He was just back in Washington at the end of last week, meeting with some folks at the National College, and again, so it's a great chance to get out back there. But would provide more assistance. To the overall public, management, and physical budget policy, lane manual, lane code. One of those things is I'd really like to know the full fiscal impact on Land County. Where are we going to be saving money? Where are going to spending money? What's it going to do to clerical support and to administrative support? And I haven't seen any of that in any great detail. Division of Building and Equipment Maintenance. The section of building maintenance comes from public land. The section of equipment maintenance comes from police services and public... I think it's going to produce some real serious questions in the minds of many county departments and county employees. We've had a number of county reorganizations in the last three or four years, and I think there's an element of cynicism. I think that there's a need to be shown, and some apprehensions that we're going to hopefully deal with in a positive and professional way. A reorganization effort made three years ago lessened negative feelings within county government. Today's proposal by new general administrator George Morgan was generally very well received. With some major departmental jobs on the line, hopefully this optimism will persist. At the Lane County Courthouse, this is Peggy Jo Abraham for eyewitness news. Thanks for being here. So what were the major health diseases that you've all been under? There wasn't anything in there. There will probably be, when the highway colors turn back here with the hot weather. The main arguments in the trial was that it was illegal for a cemetery to tie the sale of their lot to the sale of the marker or to tie their sale of the lot to the installation of the market and to eliminate competition and to hurt the bereaved family lot owners. Approximately 15 cents in the last six, seven weeks. Three or five, three cent raises will become that now. Is that unusual? Well, prior to that, they were half-cent, then seven-tenths of a cent, then the one-cent raise, but now it's been two or three, or they had a crack. From my own experience in the past, it's kind of disappointing to drive into the post office, open the box and find there's nothing there. It's a little disappointing to phone and find out you don't have any mail, but you haven't gone out in 12 degree weather and wasted your gas and time to find out. Thank you. I think we alleviated a lot of pain and suffering among the sick refugees, and I also think that we made big changes in ourselves in the way that we're going to look at the world and the people and relationships for the rest of our lives. I think that definitely got more from them than they got from us overall. The frustrating thing when we left was not knowing, you know, how long the camps will be in distance. I would imagine that's going to be several years before the people can either go back to their own country, which is bad as doubtful at the present time, or just what will be done with them. Does it look like there's any hope both medically and politically for those people? Medically, I think they're in much better shape than they were a month or two ago, and I think as long as the AIDS continues to come in, medically they're doing alright. Politically, it's sad. The camps are beginning to take on the look of permanence, rather than just a temporary waste font. So I think we'll readjust somewhat, but I doubt that we'll ever forget this. It's something that's very indelible at this time in our personality. I think that we will readjust our lives to what we've seen more than going back to our old ways. Mm-hmm. Well, I think it's comparable to somebody wanting to go into crime and asking to have the university give them a course in criminal activity, have a say of getting them in a department in the university so they could be educated and then taken into the gang afterwards. The door and went over to try to find it. It involves a beautiful society that is important to our community and so they said well what can we do to not go to the university and meet them. That covered basically the nine objectives that it already was one of them. And it certainly occurred in our review. It wouldn't, but I think what's possibly happened. And I'm sure that's what it was yesterday. I'm not sure if that's how it's going to happen. Thank you. I want to take a look at it. I really haven't been to an institute. I haven't involved in it that much. Good, great news. Thank you. Problem. We'll put them where they need to be. The more emergency cases, serious traffic hazards, that type of thing. But that doesn't mean that we're going to stop issuing meter violations or whatever violations. We'll write them as we need to. But that determination will be made as we go along. Do you have any idea how long these tickets are going to last? No. It depends on how well you're sure. Do you intend to try to stretch them out as long as you can? Yes. If you're now thinking that for the next couple of weeks you can park your car anywhere you want for as long as you want without plugging a meter, well you'd better think again. The parking department says it will dole out its last tickets very carefully and you never know where one might end up. In Eugene, this is Lisa Stark for Eyewitness News. The way back to Cresswell and including most of Cress well with a risk point of two or two and a half to three miles from the river. They adopted the recommendation of the staff with the established a, on one side, the mass of this. We don't know whether they conformed to the way the river itself. There's no suggestion that under the ordinance of the public. That may lead to a policy that contains an ordinance. Recreation and development shall include a variety of river-oriented uses in urban areas, but shall be for... The county has a facial performance blanket bond, which covers commissioners as well as other officials. And that bond protects the county from loss if there's a problem in performance obligations. Yeah. Yeah, I think we'll find out about 15 to 20. Are there the Olympics still going to be on, or? How much did you invest in these type items? Not that much to begin with, not enough to really hurt us, but we do have more orders and at this point, we're still gonna continue our order until we find out. Because I'm marginal between the two parties involved and being a keeper of the record I'm... Let me see if I can get the cards now and make it a little prettier. The military is a viable job opportunity for an educated person. I think that we exist here to let the students try the military through ROTC and there's absolutely no pressure, no coercion, realizing that we serve a useful purpose here. And there is an Air Force ROTC program that's there. Situation he feels prosecuted to go to or would that be a final decision? I think, uh, well, the last... What sounds dull and what sounds really night and about any nodes and just nodes and stuff. And see which ones vibrate really long. When you have one, if you've had success against a team, now you've got to come up with another reason and it's got to be that we want to maintain our level of success. We want to put it to them again, that type of thing, and that doesn't rile the same type of emotions that a defeat would rile. How about we'd like to win one at Mack Court? Well, obviously, Rick, you know, we've talked about that. And you know you look at our shooting percentage at home and I honestly believe we want to win. And you sometimes wonder whether we try too hard at home. One of the things I talked about with the team today was to come out and play 40 minutes and at the same time not to try to be too glamorous. You know, just kind of play within ourselves. You know try to hit home runs every time we play. And you play at the offensive end to play with some poise. Thank you very much. Don't get too tight and kind of let things happen as they've done on the road. That's really pretty upsetting. I mean, I don't know what I'm going to do. What do you think? Do you plan to register if that all goes through Congress? I think I'll register just because I want to avoid any fines. I wouldn't go. I mean, I wouldn't want to go. I guess it's equal to do it, but I wouldn't want it to be done. I'd rather not take the men. I just hope I don't have to go How do you feel about registering women in general? Well, I think if men go, women should go, too. But I don't think anybody should have to go. I disagree with it. You know, I disagree at the draft, but I think that if men are drafted, I think women should be, too, not necessarily fighting. Thank you. I think if men have to go, we should go. Would you be willing to go? Yes, I would. It's my country, and so I'll fight for it. I'd love to be drafted, but it'd be great. Great. Why is that? Thank you. Why would I like to be drafted? A female with a college degree, I'd go in as an officer, I think it'd be great. I believe the Air Force felt it, the screening process, the RTP library conference. You're from India originally, right? And you're trying to get your citizenship now. Is it unusual that you're so patriotic at this point? I wouldn't call myself patriotic, I'm just against non-violence, no matter where I'm from or where I will be. Anything to try to bloodshed guns and battles and that's what prompted me to do this because Canadians did very clever things of hiding those six Americans and bring them home. It's my self-expression of myself, who I am, what I stand for, what i believe in. Carried a matter which was very closely contested, and which has been through very deep and long considerations to the extent that we need to. Went ahead and built himself a storm cellar to protect himself from all of the bad weather that transpires in that area with. Infusing to people, because I'm not sure that we quite understand, you know, we're talking about A ballots and B ballots.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69640/file/156053#t=5.89,2782.01
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69640/file/156053/transcript/86168
["English [Transcript]
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69640/file/156053/transcript/86168/annotation/2
https://d9jk7wjtjpu5g.cloudfront.net/file_transcripts/associated_files/000/086/168/original/trint_Coll427_fv469_transcript.vtt?1762203595
text/vtt
en
https://d9jk7wjtjpu5g.cloudfront.net/file_transcripts/associated_files/000/086/168/original/trint_Coll427_fv469_transcript.vtt?1762203595
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69640/file/156053/index/51606
["Coll427_FV469 [Index]
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69640/file/156053/index/51606/annotation/3
["Title
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69640/file/156053#t=0.0,2845.89
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69640/file/156053/index/51606/annotation/4
coll427_fv469_01 County Reorg
coll427_fv469_02 Downtown
coll427_fv469_03 Pest Conf.
coll427_fv469_04 Downtown Preserve
coll427_fv469_05 Cab-Salem Airport
coll427_fv469_06 Mall Park
coll427_fv469_07 Pest Conference
coll427_fv469_08 Crabs
coll427_fv469_09 County Reorg.
