You still need to take calcium, but maybe you'll let some out because it's absorbed to get into the body better. Exercise will also help to develop bone strength and put calcium to more efficient use. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if your medications could interfere with calcium absorption. They can usually adjust your prescriptions to overcome the problem. If you do have a problem with medications interfering with calcium adsorption, you don't necessarily have to stop taking those medications.
