11:\u003c/strong\u003e Hi there. And a happy new year to everybody. Let's see what the year is going to look like for fruits and vegetables. First off, on the fruit side, prices are pretty stable right now. We're seeing higher prices, slightly higher for citrus, oranges, and grapefruit. Oranges running about 49 cents a pound. Excellent Florida grapefruit coming in at about 69 cents a piece. And very nice apples right now, and pears also. Apples, golden delicious, red delicious, newtowns and grannies, depending on the size, about 59 cents a pound for the really nice extra fancy. So fruit prices in general, fairly stable. Over in the vegetable market now, a lot of fluctuation. Again, weather problems. Higher prices, leafy greens are going to be up, cucumbers are going to be up, broccoli and cauliflower will soon be going up. Tomatoes out of Florida will be going up. What are the good buys? Well, onions are a good buy, 19 cents a pound. Potatoes are a reasonable buy. Here's staples again, very good buy. Finally, watch this. This is this head lettuce is talking to me. It's the talking head lettuce. It's saying it's going to be very expensive this week because of the weather in California. 79 to 98 cents a head. That's not talking, that's screaming. So head lettuce is the item to avoid this week. Switch over to a leaf item or a spinach. Hope 1985 is a great year for you for eyewitness news.
