One is that bullets from the Salem killing matched those found at the scene of a double murder in California. California officials are in Salem looking into the possibility that Woodfield is the man who shot and killed a woman and her daughter near Redding on February 3rd. Van Dyk said Woodfield will be tried first in Salem even if other charges are filed. He said the Marion County charges against Woodfield followed an investigation by Beaverton Police. They interviewed Woodfield in connection with the February killing of 18-year-old Julie Reitz. No charges have been filed in that case as yet. There is one survivor of the Transamerica shootings in Kaiser. While Woodfield is alleged to have shot both women in the back of the head, one of them lived. The survivor, Lisa Garcia, had left the state, but Van Dyke confirmed she had returned to Oregon. Apparently, she participated in the identification of Woodfield. A number of the bandit's victims did go to Springfield yesterday to view Woodfield in a police lineup. Woodfield appeared briefly in Marion County District Court today, but his arraignment was postponed until tomorrow so he could confer with his attorney. Bob Zagorin, Eyewitness News in Salem. Well, just when the weather started to get better and prices started to come down, Winchanoa, California, had a little stroke of bad weather. And again, prices are starting to escalate. Let's take a look first at the fruit market and see what's going on this week. Good buys this week, oranges, naval oranges, Royal Temple mandarins. Very good buy, good supply. You can't get too much juice out of the navels. If you try juicing a few of these Royal Temples, you will get good juice, very sweet. Other good buys, Texas grapefruit, ruby reds. Excellent right now. They will start to go up in price. Finally, D'Angelo pears right here out of Oregon. Controlled atmosphere, meaning they've been in oxygen-free storage. Very good. Strawberries out of California. They were down last week. They're going up because of the weather. And finally, out of Mexico, cantaloupes. Very, very good right now, although expensive. About $2 apiece. Excellent quality, though. Over in the vegetable market, good buys this week. Salad greens still. Spinach, lettuce, still very reasonably priced. Green onions, radishes, carrots, all very good. Higher priced items this week. Tomatoes out of Mexico, a dollar a pound. Green peppers, last week you needed a note from your mother. This week you need a note form your stock broker. They're over $2 a pound. Asparagus out of the Imperial Valley, excellent quality. Prices are coming down on that. And finally, the vegetable item of the week this week, artichokes out of Castroville. You won't be choking on the price. They're about $0.50 to $0,60 apiece. Very good quality, buy them right now, because who knows what they're going to be next week. For Eyewitness News, I'm Terence Potassium.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70277/file/156221#t=2532.43,2618.77
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70277/file/156221/transcript/86294/annotation/125
Speaker 53: Yeah, I'm talking about the trade-off.
