One other thing that kind of ticked me off during Leonard Part 6, when Cosby's not busy throwing hand grenades at metal doors, he's lounging around at home or in the office. Prominently surrounded by Coca-Cola or some of the other products that he endorses on TV. And I do mean prominently surrounding. However, if you haven't seen any good soft drink ads in a while, Leonard Part 6 may be the movie for you. The film is rated PG, namely for its long periods of boredom. It's playing at movie land. It's a weathered and very plain-looking brown building. Almost 30 years ago, the city convinced the membership of the nearby Ebert Memorial United Methodist Church to buy the house and a pair of adjoining lots as off-street parking sites. Church officials converted one of the lots for parking, and now they're thinking about doing the same thing with the value house property in order to get out from under taxes and insurance costs associated with it. The problem is, they can't get permission from the city to tear the building down. Their original request was denied in 1982. They're now asking again, but Springfield planners still oppose the idea. They say the church hasn't met any of the basic criteria for approval. According to planners, the house is in a public danger, and the church has demonstrated it's in the public interest to demolish the structure. Church spokesman Ron Byers can't figure out what the city means by public interest.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/71251/file/157203#t=2528.68,2584.24
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/71251/file/157203/transcript/88632/annotation/150
Speaker 54: Well, the city was the one that got us into this by asking us to provide off-street parking, and we had no quarrel with that.
