And crept off into the bush for the playing of the game. The red strategy was to protect their banner with a well-camouflaged, experienced player while everyone else went to attack. Here it is, Labor Day weekend already. Where did the summer go? And if you're planning a picnic or an outing, and I hope you are, be sure to take along lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Mostly good news, vegetable department. Locally, sweet corn. Absolutely delicious again. Six to eight for a dollar, golden jubilee. I keep telling you, couple more weeks of the sweet corn season. Green beans, very good. Tomatoes, we're even getting ripe tomatoes because we've had some sunshine. Peppers of all kind. We're getting some colored red, yellow sweet peppers coming on now, walla walla onions still in season, and lots of zucchini. In general, mostly good news vegetable-wise. Only high-priced item this week, lettuce, leaf lettuce. Head lettuce is a good buy, but leaf lettuce, because of the hot weather that we had last month, lettuce was a little slow. Now there's very little lettuce on the market. Leaf lettuce, romaine, red leaf, green leaf, and butter, all relatively high, $0.69 to $0,89 a bunch. You might be better off this week actually using local head lettuce. Over in the fruit department, basically nothing but good news. The end of the peach season's upon us, so peaches are starting to be going up in price. But there's still some good quality peaches left. Nectarines coming on strong out of Washington and Oregon, very reasonable. Bartlett pears getting very sweet and juicy right now. Out of California, cantaloupes, lowest price of the year, 14 to 19 cents a pound, excellent quality. Only high-priced item in the food market, really, avocados, Hass Avocados. Really nearing the end of their season, and they really took a jump this week. You're gonna pay almost a buck a piece for avocados. That's a lot of money. And lemons, there's a very short citrus supply right now. So lemons running about 50 cents a piece. That's usually twice of what they normally are. Limes are actually a better buy. So lemons and avocadoes are the high-price items, whereas most other things in the fruit department are very good. So have a good, safe Labor Day weekend. Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Have a marvelous time. For Eyewitness News, I'm Terry Potassium.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70858/file/156809#t=2565.13,2677.32
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70858/file/156809/transcript/89938/annotation/124
Speaker 37: Well, maybe if you should look around, do you know where I go to the office? He arms them, divides them into a red team and a blue team, and sends them into the woods in opposite directions. The object then is to capture the other team's flag while defending your own. Today's first match pitted a small and rather timid group of reds against a swaggering band of blues. The team set out their flags as per the rules. And crept off into the bush for the playing of the game. The red strategy was to protect their banner with a well-camouflaged, experienced player while everyone else went to attack. It failed miserably. Blue players pounced on red opponents at every possible point of ambush. For Eyewitness News, I'm Terry Potassium.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70858/file/156809#t=2565.13,2677.32
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70858/file/156809/transcript/90020/annotation/251
Speaker 37: Well, maybe if you should look around, do you know where I go to the office?
