It was 90 degrees at 8 o'clock this morning. It's now noon at about 110, but I guess the natives are acclimated. They're pretty excited about their new status as members of the Pac-10 Conference, so much so that every game here at Sun Devil Stadium is a sellout, and this place seats about 70,000. Even though we have this beautiful stadium and our fans are all enthused about it, but I think that to a certain degree they're in for a shock. And unfortunately, we have to get them orientated to this and make them aware that, hey, we're playing some great football teams. And I think the other asset that we have is, hey you're in a different level of competition regardless of the outcome of the game. Presently, they're all sold out, which is one good indication, but we're going to have to convince them, as I talked about earlier, saying you're coming to watch a great football team whether you win or lose. If you've been planning on canning or freezing vegetables this year, it's time to get going. Corn seems to be the big crop coming in right now. And it looks really good. That would mean that athletic practices of all kinds and our ability to hold the competition on Friday would go on as we had anticipated by the regular calendar. It's conceivable that there may be other ways by which the allocations are made and benefits of primary interest to the union satisfied. That I don't know. But the basis of the fact-finders report is still valid? As far as the county is concerned, it's extraordinarily valid. It's the county's position. Is there a possibility that often might be withdrawn? I think that's the possibility we have to fix. To Mr. Pryor, county commissioners, and anyone else. Come on, come on, let's go. At this particular time, we'd have to assess that particular point when we were notified of such actions. For the first time in, I guess forever, Lane County now has an electronics firm that will be opening October 1, 1980, and we have to be ready to supply them with employees. Are you going to be able to do that? If the students show up, we'll be ready to train them. We need about 100 more electronic students in two weeks than we have today. Someone had gone through the city, it appears, and... Taken a few hot shots at the windows and cars here. When you called the police and told them about your situation, what did they say? Well, they said that it's been happening all over town. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 33 I don't believe, regardless of who is going to take over the program, they're going to be qualified to handle the team in a game situation with such short notice. I think that's the main concern. And I also feel that another concern here is that by bringing in people other than the staff that we have, that they're attempting to prolong the strike. And I don't think that is for the. Benefit of anybody concerned. Us as teacher coaches, the players, the community at all. Hey, hey, hey! There's a couple more over there up there. Ah, ah! Ah! Ah! Alright. One of its effects is that it could have an enormous impact on literally stopping urban sprawl. Other housing alternatives may have to be developed, but we are going to protect our resource lands in a time when we may have to go into greater food production. It's open to anyone in the community. The topic is outdoor related things in line with the outdoor program here at the university. So it basically consists of landscapes and scenics, action, white water action, mountain climbing pictures, anything that has to do with the outdoors and it's non-motorized.
