If I seem a little weird, shaky today, it's because maybe I've had too much EDBs or I've had oral surgery last week. I think it's the latter, and my mouth is still kind of sore. Anyways, I just read in the paper where an economist somewhere said fruit and vegetable prices are going to be returning to normal. Well, what do they know? First of all, what's normal this time of the year? A lot of things are high. Secondly, what if it rains in Mexico? What if it freezes in California? Prices are going to go right back up. So vegetable prices are still particularly high. Affected items include cabbage, about a dollar a pound, baking potatoes, fifty cents a pound, carrots fifty cents a pound, cucumbers fifty cents apiece, tomatoes and celery, over a dollar, a dollar a pound, and tomatoes and well over a dollar a stock for celery, even parsley, about fifty cents a stock. I'm ready to go to my refrigerator, open the door and say, I'm mad as heck, I'm not going to take this anymore. Also, I've had a lot of complaints about avocados this week. Well, it's because we're into the bacon and zutano varieties of avocados. They're not as good as this rubber haas avocado I've set out for you to look at. This is what they should look like, what they don't look like, however. On a sweeter, more mellow note, we're getting some nice imported fruit out of chili, peaches, nectarines, also some good seedless red grapes and green grapes at about $3 a pound. A little spendy, but very tasty. And the best news is out of California, the weather hasn't been too bad there, and what we're getting now is the first crop of California strawberries, coming in about a dollar and a half a basket, but they're very sweet. So what I suggest you do this week is eat some nice sweet strawberries or grapes, stay away from the expensive vegetables, and don't take any rubber avocados from anybody. For eyewitness news, I'm Terry Potassium.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70701/file/156648#t=196.56,299.04
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70701/file/156648/transcript/87521/annotation/10
Speaker 7: Over sixty thousand dollars worth of new state-of-the-art computer equipment from Hewlett-Packard now resides at the University of Oregon's College of Business Administration.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70701/file/156648#t=319.63,327.95
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70701/file/156648/transcript/87521/annotation/11
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70701/file/156648#t=331.239,331.239
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70701/file/156648/transcript/87521/annotation/12
Speaker 7: The computers are HP's latest 150 touch-screen model, complete with printers, plotters, and software. The board voted to accept a deal proposed by Delta Triangle Sand and Gravel, the major landholder on the island. That deal would set up a 400-foot buffer zone around most of the rookery, a land area of about 13 acres.
