But with the bad weather in Florida, the people from the east will be coming to the west to get their citrus. Therefore, we'll have a strain on our market, and eventually we'll see higher prices on our citrus, as well as higher prices and frozen orange juice this summer. Still, however, your best buys this week in the fruit department are naval oranges, as low as $0.20 a pound, and Texas grapefruit, as low $0,20 each. Over in the vegetable department, your best buy this week would be broccoli, as low as 39 cents a pound. Yellow onions, as low as 10 cents a pound, and zucchini, yellow, and patty pan squash, all hovering around the 59 cent a pound mark. Finally, our no-jive buy of the week are fresh chives. The word chive itself means onions. It comes from Old French. What you do with these chives is you take them and you transplant them into your window box or your garden. Well, they'll do very well. They'll come back every year, die back in the winter. You just clip them off as they grow. You can freeze them, dry them, use them fresh. One box of chives, you'll have them forever. Another item that was affected are the California naval oranges. Now, they were affected by the bad rain. We cut these oranges, and we still see that they have good juice content, and they're still a good buy, as low as$.20 a pound but the price on this will be escalating soon. Your best buys this week in the fruit department would be California strawberries. They're coming near the peak of their season, and they're as low as 89 cents a basket, and the quality is excellent. Your best buy over in the vegetable department would be yellow onions, coming out of Ontario, Oregon, as low a seven cents a pound.
