Let me tell you about putting up eggs. Putting up eggs is a really simple inexpensive thing and there's at least ten or fifteen different ways to put up eggs first of all you got to have some eggs. You procure a skein of eggs out of a fish and you cut them up into about bait size chunks that's a chunk just about that big just about as big around as a quarter you might want to cut them down just a little bit The other thing that you have to do is go to the store and get you some powdered borax. It's 99% powdered borach just like you do laundry in and sprinkle that on the eggs after you cut them up. Then all you gotta do is put all the eggs in a plastic container and make sure it's plastic so it don't freeze and bust on ya. Put your eggs in that plastic container, set them in the freezer and freeze them and a year from now when the fall schnooks start in again, you'll have some eggs to fish with. It's really important that you put these eggs up in some sort of manner so that they'll milk. Now for a bait to milk, when you put a bait of eggs in the water, you want this white milky substance to come out of the eggs. If it does that, that's what causes the fish to come up on the eggs, they can smell that from downstream. The borax will allow them to come up and milk like that real good. There's a lot of other different ways to put up eggs, but there's not much simpler or much much cheaper than that, and they'll work. I've caught a lot fish on them. So go out there and hook you a fish. Get your skeena eggs out of him and put him up and you'll be ready to fish this winter whenever enough steelhead get here.
