Number one, and the most important one, is you're going to have to be careful. When you take a safety off on your rifle, make absolutely certain where you got it The other things is, make sure that you're prepared when you go over there. Understand there's going to be some snow in the high country. If you're going to plan to spend some time up there, take your tire chains with you. Don't get caught in the hills not prepared. Make sure you got your license and tag. They're a little more expensive this year as they are every year, but you still got to have them if you're goin' over there, so be prepared, be careful. We got a good crop of deer this year, and you're probably going to get one if you go out there and spend any time seriously looking for one. And by all means, have a good time. It's like kind of my cornucopia of fresh produce. It's a good week for fresh produce over in the vegetable apartment. Still some local good values coming in. We talked about squash the other week. Lots of good values on winter squash. Broccoli's still coming in locally. Yams and sweet potatoes out of California for those nice, cool evenings. Beets, golden beets, red beets. We're getting some artichokes coming in now out of the California. Prices are high, about a dollar a piece, but it is artichoke season, So they are on the market right now. We will start to see prices going up, escalating, because produce is going to start coming from California and Mexico. So look for higher vegetable prices coming in the next couple of weeks. Over in the fruit department, we've got lots of good values also. Pineapples coming in and out of Hawaii, 49 to 69 cents a pound. Couple of new things now. Grapefruit back in season again. Indian River and Texas and California, grapefruit coming in. We didn't have any Texas grapefruit last year because of a crop failure. Grapefruits back in-season, very reasonably priced. Looks like a good crop for grapefruit. Some new items out of California, kiwi fruit, tastes similar to strawberries, a very beautiful fruit, kind of sweet and soft. Two other new items, persimmons out of california, very good, must be very riper, they'll make you pucker, and pomegranates, the ancient fertility fruit. Now pomegrant juice does stain your clothes, so either wear a bib, or take off your clothes when you eat them. Maybe that's why they're an ancient fertility food, I don't know, anyways they're in season now. Also, the only fruit that I know grown actually in a plastic bag, I'm only kidding. From the cranberry bogs across the country, cranberries are in season right now, and I suggest you buy your cranberries early for Thanksgiving and put them in the freezer. We always seem to be running out of cranberries. It is Halloween weekend, so if you see any fruits or vegetables walking around out in the streets, please be kind to them. It could be me.
