The Sheldon High School Irish found us out when they played Cottage Grove. Any time you travel, there is a change, of course. Environment has a great deal of something to do possibly with attitudes, knowing maybe you may not have the fan coverage. Any time that we have played at Cottage Grove, and I've been here for some time, no matter what type of ball club we had or they had, it was an extremely difficult ballgame. And you may say that possibly the home field has some advantage. And sometimes I think it may possibly be true. Sheldon played a team that was supposed to win, but for the first three quarters it looked like Sheldin was the team to beat. And if it wasn't for a play that caught the Irish defense by surprise, homecoming would have been a sad affair for the home team. But the visitor's dream did not come true. It's like any game where you are competing against another individual, and apparently you've played some athletics. Anytime you lost, you didn't feel good about it. When you lost an extremely close one, you really felt horrible. A real bad one, you just know you suffered a disappointment and then you have to regroup yourself. In cases like this, this is the time when your seniors and your leaders bring people back together and tell them what they did good and what they did bad. It's rather senseless to go in and tell the people the errors they made. They already know. You can't play games even at this level with young men. These people are fairly adult and know what mistakes were made. That's life and it's part of growing up. You Yeah Well there are presently two markers over in the road and one of them is obviously incorrect and one is correct and we are attempting to determine beyond any doubt which is a correct When you find the correct marker, what are you going to do then? We will then monument it presently as a, we suspicion that the one that's there now is the correct one, which is monumented. If this is the case and this is a correct monument, then what we will do is we will enter this into our records, our notes that we have at this date, cut the tree. We have found the R that was referenced in 1895, and there's no question in our minds in which one is correct. Will you remark another tree? Possibly, yes. I'd say I'm about two thirds of the way through. I need a little bit more development in the aerodynamic aspects of it and a more sophisticated mounting system, but then I'll be about set to put it in production and hopefully sell a few. How dry does it keep someone when they're riding in a rain like this? I'd you keep from 75 to 80% of the rain that you normally get from riding on a naked bike off of you. What time is it there at the moment, 7? It's good to hear from you. A prominent piece of all together is the main obstacle in this media. I'll be able to start at 10 o'clock. That's the start of what could be one of the real great physical feats in the world. But as you may follow this, like the three of you have been doing, we'll be swimming a style that he has developed through a great form of screening in the survival stroke. And you'll continue to swim that way, the job will turn into a normal stroke. Follow your television news, and for updates on P\u0026L's great channel cable studies, you're going to be aware of this television statement. At 8.30 a.m. There will be a 15-minute update. At 12.30 p.m., there will an update. At 5.30p.m, and again at 9.30, so keep watching. One, two, three. Do I do that? My hands are too sweaty. Or is there any large-scale thing? We implemented, for the most part, a three-phase program. And we feel that that has a significant impact upon this rate that we're projecting. We placed a heavy emphasis in the prevention area. And we attempted to get the community involved in that prevention model by making them aware of the problem and then offering to them programs wherein they could participate to better protect themselves against the crime of burglary. Did, uh, implement, uh... We're going to have this hall be doing something for agents to find a place for them to sit. I'm also discussing the matter of, uh... I had to dress it all up to make it start there. And then I would use your sword as the official word. Working towards a inverted rate structure so that power users, when they use more power, pay more, rather than when they used more power paying less. I talked about incentives for home insulation. I talked to about new building codes that will require energy-efficient buildings. I talked back promoting labor-intensive industry, promoting new sources of energy like solar power. And I said, we really have to start understanding and realizing that we live in a time when... We do not have unlimited power. And unless we take some steps for conservation, one of these days, the lights are really going to go out. Secondly, once that huge corporate conglomerate gets a monopoly, or a few of them get a monopoly on agriculture, then they can raise prices at will. This is a cause where farmers and consumers really must join together to make sure that our present structure of agriculture continues. To start off the evening, we're going to have Dennis Ralston and Marty Reeson conduct a tennis clinic starting at 6.30. Following that, we are going to have our celebrity match featuring Ronnie Lee, Stuart Jackson. Of course, you all know them. And then we're gonna have Leo Davis, Oregonian sports page writer, and Jack McCloskey, who is a candidate for the AD here at Oregon and at Oregon State. Following that we'll have our feature match at 8 o'clock between Marty Reason and Dennis Ralstown. Then we'll have doubles with our varsity players teaming up with the two pros. And finishing off the evening, we'll have the two best junior boy players in Oregon, John Hermanson and Craig Morrison, play the final match of the evening. What kind of caliber of tennis can we expect to see from these two pros? Reese and, of course, highly ranked, the US LTA, and Dennis Rawlson, not a bad player either. Well, they're both terrific. They both had plenty of Davis Cup experience. They're experts. I think people in town will really have an enjoyable evening. It'll be something they won't have a chance to see for some time. And it's been about 15 years since we had the last pro exhibition match here in Mack Court. So it'll be outstanding tennis. ...Turned on probably next week for testing purposes, and then we're going to break it down into four different sections. Approximately 250 hours of first-run TV programming, programming that's never been before on commercial television. Will this cost the subscribers anymore? That's correct. The channel itself to be activated in your home would be $9.95 a month additional to the service that we already provide. Well, there's an awful lot of people calling on you, I suppose, all the time, little girl. We should go back again in the employment to create jobs like the old CC days, so that a man is accomplishing something when he gets his welfare check or his unemployed comp check. He should do something creative. And that's where I would cut the budget. I'd get a lot of things done for the money that's being spent. Food stamps are a disgrace. And we should wipe that out entirely. We hope to cover our expenses by ourselves, that is to support ourselves, and our sales has gone up $2,000 since the last statement. When we organized it the food up is open to all students on campus and right now I'm a marketing major and I saw the market potential for the, first of all, for the living organizations to save by buying on a bulk basis. Then when we got that system set up, I also realized the market potential of serving the entire student body campus. So we used the tools, the truck here, the warehouse or the student store, our office, and everything that we set up for the organizations and we used that to serve all the rest of the students. Want to get a shot of all the bugs out? Then on January 1st, we're going to open up to the entire U of O student body. And any student can come in here and make a purchase. Okay, great. Thank you. Tell us exactly. They came to play, they were emotionally piqued for that ball game, it was a big one for them. They have not played better as far as moving the ball straight at anyone as they did in that ballgame. We looked at them in all our games this year and they ran right at us using four basic veer plays and just dominated the line of scrimmage and controlled the ballgame by hanging on to the ball and sustaining drive after drive and just overwhelmed us. We've got a lot of pride in our defense this year. Were you disappointed in their play on Saturday? On the standpoint that we could not make something happen to turn the ball over, cause a fumble, stop a drive, intercept the pass, do something to stop their drive. But as far as our kids playing hard and trying to do the right things, they did that. They always have. They're very aggressive, tough, intense kids and they do come to play. We were out matched and from that standpoint, I can't say much about it. We just played a better football team Saturday and they did control and dominate play. We were asleep, and we heard this one very bad gust hit. And of course, we jumped out of bed. And we ran into the living room and into the dining room to pull all the drapes, because there's windows all the way around. And finally, it was just blowing harder and harder. And I screamed to my husband, let's get back in the bedroom. Which we did and we no more and stepped inside the door and the whole thing went off the roof. I don't know. The problem is that it gets invested in areas where tax shelters accrue to the investor and not in areas of the economy where they will produce jobs, where they'll produce salaries and wages to employees who will pay taxes on them and actually expand our economy. They get misinvested in areas that will give a tax shelter, not produce any economic good. And I disagree that the rich should get richer. And the poor and the middle class should pay their tax bill and that's really what's happening. And I am the district coordinator for Oregonians for Nuclear Safeguards. I would like to introduce the people who are in our club, the local chapter, I believe, the future power committee, and Peter Bergell. I have a formal statement. Over 60,000 Oregonians have Show us nuclear plants are safe before you build more. Have a known and workable radioactive waste storage program in operation before you make more waste. Provide us with insurance, now unavailable, that has the same coverage as the potential damage from large nuclear accidents, and make evacuation plans in case of accident up to date and known to the public. First of all, there is Mildred Dettling, and she... Utilities in Portland have, not public utilities, pardon me, private utilities in Portland have. If you do not separate out some of the longer-lived wastes that are mixed in, the waste problem really is several million years. That say, waste will remain as dangerous or toxic as 1,000 times more dangerous than natural uranium ore. Other suggestions have been to separate the longer lived wastes, and that would reduce some of the waste problems to, say, 800 years. But there are very real problems in doing the separation of the long-lived waste. Well, I'm really feeling great right now. It's quite surprising. I've been over 100 hours without sleep. And I expected it to be, I didn't really know what condition I'd be in, but it certainly wasn't the historic one that I'm in now. And I honestly feel I'm much better right now than when I began to swim four or five days ago. Do you believe you're smiling or something? How much away did you make this? As a total experience, if I was asked to do it again, I must really would. I think I learned more about myself during those three days than I have in the last 21 years. It gives you a really in-depth look at your own personalities and your own limits and aspirations. Getting out yesterday morning, that was something that I didn't quite want to happen that early, but I'm afraid that I just broke down. I couldn't do it anymore. I was so tired. I got out and sat down on the side of the pool. From what I understand, as soon as I sat down, I went straight to sleep, and they couldn't wake me up. They started to slap me about. No matter what they did, they couldn' wake me up at all. Walkers fast, complete today's call. DROP THOSE! I brought $2,500. Yeah. I met a few people here today that I haven't seen in maybe eight, ten years, and one man in particular was telling me about all his adventures going over to France and so forth, which I have relived myself. I told him that I believe that I am an individual who had the longest boat ride Any division in France. We were 22 days on the water on account of the German subs were after our convoy. How many members are there now in the World War I contingent? 242 and 133 in the odd cellar. How closely do you keep tabs on everyone in Lane County? Oh, every month, might say every week, because we lose on the average of 12 to 15 members a year due to death. Another little unhired, probably 15 on the average. I assume an annual get-together is at a time of... Experience or in shop experience, where do you pick that up? In a lawyer's office or law-related setting. All right, let's go. Oh, at Lane Community College. And they have the continuing courses. I see the legal assistant as a real liaison between the attorney and the client. There are a great many routine procedural things that an assistant can do that don't necessarily require the services of an attorney. Perhaps in that way it will reduce attorney's fees, although I wouldn't want to guarantee that. And there you go, down into the water. 15 seconds. They're now making some kind of a distinction between humanitarian aid and economic aid, and they've decided that a rototiller is economic aid. What they seem to be doing is letting us send things which perpetuate the dependency of Vietnam on other countries. You can send rice, but you can't send the rototillers, but not letting you send things which help Vietnam become self-sufficient. First of all, it cleans up a document that has sort of fallen apart over the years, and I think it puts the role of the hearings official and the various commissions in a very clear way so that people can get better service when discrimination happens. I also think that, and perhaps the most important part of it all, is that it does provide those groups that find discrimination most frequent. An opportunity to deal with it separately. Here before we've had one Human Rights Commission and their job in trying to attack all kinds of discrimination has just been gigantic and too much for one body. But where we have women handicapped, the minorities and the aging sitting in separate groups working on the advocacy of their own problems, I'm sure it'll work out much better. We are attempting to get the faculty in other disciplines who aren't responsible necessarily for teaching composition officially to give more emphasis to comp in their particular courses so that students feel that writing is important in other discipline and that it's not something that you do simply in composition where an English instructor is going to be grading it. Hey, that's a pretty good tank. That is really good. I think that you do this for a while, it starts to bubble. See, yours is starting to bubble already. You go ahead and flip it over. It's all on the wrist. You're going to push your pee-pee right in here. Thanks for watching! The main reason is that it's safety. If something should go wrong with a blower or with a thermostat, the light bulbs, there are nine of them in the dryer, spread the heat over a much wider area than the concentrated heat cone. So according to Mr. Kirk, the engineer who made the original plan, this is strictly the reason for light bulbs is that is a much safer kind of heat. The temperature in a short period of time can reach over 1,000 degrees without a thermostat. The thermostats are usually set at around 106 degrees Fahrenheit temperature when they do have a thermostat. They're usually a cheap thermostat, because good thermostates are quite expensive. The heat will build up in the cone itself. And after the thermostat kicks off, the heat is still being produced. And it causes a thermo stat after a period of time to fail. And then it heats up to enormous temperatures again. Rather, the resolution is a form of anti-Semitism, and the UN itself has now redefined itself on record as a body which swerved sharply from its original purpose and stands undeserving of support for moral people. Zionism is not racism at all, but an emphatically defensible form of nationalism, at least as valid as the coercive nationalisms of the dictatorial regimes which pushed through the resolution. You Well, the major difference is last February, when we signed a portion of our property over to the county, it was with the understanding that the property would be traded to us. And assuming the trade was made when we assigned the title to our property to them, I assumed that that would indicate that the property they were going to trade to us was essentially ours. Well, I don't know as I'm prepared to take any action right at the moment. I'm receiving advice, and I don' know exactly what the advice will be. So I would hesitate to say right now that what action is planned. Those kinds of services will inevitably have some cost to them if they are not supposed to be on any minor. As a note that the... ...No cost, no time. I think there are a lot of people that... ...The topic underlines... Let's just begin with phase one. It could do that, except that there are other things in the ordinance that try to address that by making disincentives for unlicensed animals, such as a shorter time of impoundment before disposition if the animal is not licensed. There's also planned a very aggressive licensing program where we'll be going out in the community, seeking out the animals, and trying to be fair so that everyone... Bears their fair share of the cost of dog control so that all the animal, dog owners, pay their part. That will take quite a bit of public education and a lot of work, frankly, but we think it's needed and important. Telephone solicitation campaign where they were violating the provisions of the deceptive precluded by state law from commenting on things which will be submitted to a grand jury or which already are in the grand jury for consideration. So your question is such that I really cannot give a meaningful response to it, other than you're just going to have to wait and see what develops. What we're asking for is that people who were either involved in the Civilian Conservation Corps or at least who knew people that were involved or who knew anything about it at all, write in and tell us what they thought of it. Jim and Congressman Duncan are both actively backing a new CCC bill. They want it very much. And they want some people to write in and tell them what they think of it so that they can take those to the subcommittee hearings next week before the Education and Labor Subcommittee. Well, the last few years have been tumultuous years for anyone involved in the middle of the Watergate, as I was. Go from the White House to prison, living through that long, dark nightmare was quite an experience. But in my own life, at least, I discovered the reality of Jesus Christ. And that has really very dramatically altered my life. I believe for the better, at least I feel so, very much so. And so I guess I would say it was, from my standpoint, worth it all, even though it was a pretty tough time to live through. When you were in the White House, when you were close to Richard Nixon, people saw you as basically an unprincipled politician. Looking back on those times now, do you feel that was an accurate assessment of your life at that time? Is that a redundant phrase, an unprincipled politician? I was just a guy who had a job to do. I followed the president's orders. I tried to do it as well as I could. I grew up in Massachusetts politics, where the game is played kind of rough. I liked to win, and I guess I was kind of tough. I avoided the press most of the time I was in the White House. I didn't really have time for them. I didn' believe it was a White House aides job to be in the newspapers or in television. I tried to preserve a degree of anonymity. You can see how spectacularly unsuccessful I was. And I think that probably created an aura of mystery about me. I got accused of, kind of like Jesse James, of. Bank robberies and states he wasn't even in. I got accused of all manner of things when the Watergate started. Unraveled. You know, some true, some untrue. That's the nature of the business. Okay, great. The credibility and the usefulness of the United Nations was drastically weakened when delegates welcomed an armed assassin to speak on its floor earlier this year and sent him away with a standing ovation. The strength and the support for the United Nations was further undermined by its action equating Zionism and racism.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69166/file/155576#t=5.23,3253.94"}]},{"id":"https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/69166/file/155576/transcript/79315","type":"AnnotationPage","label":{"en":["English
