I do that quite a bit, and I'm pretty successful at it. You know, you put your boat in up the river early this morning and you've drifted all day down the river. Now you got to get back up to your trailer. How do you do that? Get out on the side of the road and catch a ride. It's important though what you look like when you get out on the side of the road and whether you will catch a ride or not. I always take a rod out of my boat. Stand out by the edge of the road, stay close to a sign that says boat landing on it. People will know what you're doing on the river then. They'll know what you've been fishing and that you are trying to catch a ride back up to your car, and you won't have nearly as much trouble as if you're dressed in a hat and sunglasses or rain gear or something trying to catch a ride along the side of the road. So if you see me stand out on the edge of the road with my fishing pole, close to a boat landing sign, you'll know I'm on my way back to the trailer. Please stop picking me up. I will if I see you. Now let's have a look in the old bag of tricks and see what's going on this weekend. Trout on Diamond Lake. I've heard some really good stories about the southeast end of the lake where the water's shallow. Those damsel fly nymphs will begin to hatch and they're taking some real nice big rainbows down there. Sturgeon fishing on the Columbia, I've heard a couple of those Ben Gay days. That's when you have to come home and your wife rubs Ben Gay on your arms from catching too many big fish. Catfish, nights on Silcoose Lake's been really good. They've been catching a lot of fish, fishing on the bottom with worms on Silk Loose Lake. And of course, salmon fishing's still good in the ocean. It comes and goes with the weather, so if you can get out, there's a lot of good fish out there now running about five to six pounds. This is Terry Coleman for Eyewitness Sports, getting back to my trailer.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70606/file/156552#t=343.77,437.06
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70606/file/156552/transcript/87577/annotation/7
Speaker 4: It's not a luxury, my friends.
