Another couple of copters aided in the fight, and the flames were doused in about an hour. Officials think a spark from the derailment might have started the fire. There was some concern for a time that the train was carrying chemicals. Southern Pacific spokesman Jerry Parra said there were some tanker cars, but they were all empty. The train was making its daily run between Coos Bay and Springfield. SP officials say that route will be out of service until the trestle is repaired. That'll probably be in 10 days to two weeks. No injuries have been reported in the mishap. Officials have begun their investigation into the cause of the derailment.
