We've got that rainbow we've been waiting for for over a month now. What that's gonna do is bring the rivers up where we can get some new fish in. It's gonna warm them up a little bit so the fish that are in there can bite some. One of the things you're gonna do though, before you rush out this weekend and try to get to these fish is remember to get that new license and tag. Now you're gonna get a tag this year that only allows you ten fish. While you're in there picking up your license and tag, make sure that you pick up a copy of the 8687 sports fishing regulations. Now you might even want to get a couple of copies of these, one to put in your truck or in your tackle box, one to take home to read. Now the Department of Fish and Wildlife's made it real easy for us this year. All the additions that they've put in this new regulation booklet have put them in there in black, the new ones. So all you have to do if you're familiar with the regulations already is go through and read the newest italicized portions in the book, and you're pretty well caught up on the regulations. It's real interesting just to read through those and see some of the changes that they've made anyway. I've been through the book from cover to cover and looked at it, and it's real interesting. Now this book is not something that they just decided to do overnight. This book has ev has evolved over a long period of time. It's a real good book. I think it's well done, and I think our game commission is committed to protecting our fisheries as best they can. One of the things I think they need to do though is be a little bit receptive to us fishermen out there that are trying to tell them what we want our fish and wildlife regulated and how we want it done rather than how they want it done. So when you pick up one of these, read those italicized portions of the regulation. See what they've done to change them. The first thing I come to in the book is they've made it a new regulation that you're only allowed three striped bass in a 24-hour period. Now, why would they do something like that? Because guys are going down fishing all night, coming in with six fish. It's really tough to prove whether you caught those fish before midnight or after midnight. That's a bag limit for one day. So if you come in with three fish now, we don't care how long you fished, that's as many as you're allowed as three fish. So that keeps somebody from breaking the law. Go through and read all these. It's real interesting to go through this booklet. Make sure you keep a copy of it with you all the time. You never know when you're going to come up on a new stream you want to fish. You don't know what the regulations are in that stream. Whatever you do, though, out there on the river, make sure that you're a good sport all the time. This is Terry Coleman, Pry Witness Sports.
text/plain
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70875/file/156826#t=1611.22,1752.08
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70875/file/156826/transcript/87700/annotation/93
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70875/file/156826#t=1779.33,1779.889
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70875/file/156826/transcript/87700/annotation/94
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70875/file/156826#t=1783.0,1787.24
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70875/file/156826/transcript/87700/annotation/95
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70875/file/156826#t=1788.51,1790.51
https://uoregon.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1635/collection_resources/70875/file/156826/transcript/87700/annotation/96
Speaker 22: I don't think so in this community.
